awwwww I have always been fond of grays.
Reminded me of the story about the pony named dapple gray....... Great shots :D |
Great photos....thanks so much for sharing them!
|
Love the pics Karla! Thank you for sharing. It's a shame that Tucker and Mazie have the same Daddy b/c I bet they would make some beautiful little ones!!
Kyia :D |
They sure are cute.
What is the general temperament of a mini? Or are they individuals and it varies? How big do they usually get? And as far as that goes, where/what do you measure for height and length? |
Thank you sooooo much for sharing more wonderful pictures of the foals. I LOVE seeing them!
|
bear--they are typical horses, but maybe a bit more dog like because they can follow one around and be a pest. But--you're exactly right--it varies with each horse. Both Tucker and Mazie are so darned sweet. Last night when the mares and foals came in for dinner, instead of Tucker running in his stall to eat, he stood right in front of me. I asked him what he wanted, and suggested maybe it was a kiss. I promptly kissed him on top of is head and then he scampered in to dinner. So cute!!!
Measuring: Big horses are measured in hands, each which is 4", from the ground to their withers. Minis, oddly enough, are measured from the ground to their last mane hair in inches. Rosie is about 34", while Gypsy is about 31". Mazie will be about 30" and Tucker will end about 32". At birth they are 16-22". |
In that one pic Tucker looked just like his father!!! 8) 8) 8)
Awesome pics!!! :D :D :D |

(I do know where a horse's mane is :?) Can they be ridden? Are they mainly pets? |
AAAWWWWW they are so precious ! Thanks for keeping us updated  Love seeing the pics

Wow, Tucker is turning into a big boy, isn't he? My two favorites are the airborne one and where he's looking over his shoulder. And Mazie just looks like the prim and proper little girl and her coloring is gorgeous. Thank you Karla for bringing them back to us. |
We did a charity thing Saturday with the Therapy Dogs and there was a group of small horses there also. They were adorable and so gentle. They were all rescue horses, and it made you want to cry to hear some of the stories of how they were when this couple got them. They weren't shy around my dog at all. The kids really loved them.
