Guess you're never too old for that line to work. My DH went off to hunting camp this weekend to get things ready - and found a momma cat and 4 kittens living in the shed. He fed them, naturally, but only this little one came to him for some loving. So...of course she had to come home. She's in the office at home, with a vet appointment this afternoon to get her checked out before introducing her to our other 2 cats. We've named her Katniss - with the 100% vote of our DGDs - who are all big on the Hunger Games books. She is a real sweetie - and so is hubby !!!

Love the kitty and the husband is a keeper.

kayluvs2quilt 10-01-2012 10:42 AM

Both are definitely keepers!!!! Katniss looks like a polydactyl and is too cute to leave alone.

Very cute Kitty. Great Husband. A shame the others couldn't be saved also. I always have my newest checked out too. I have four that was found and saved.

alfosa421 10-01-2012 01:08 PM

What a curie!

NikkiLu 10-01-2012 01:11 PM

OMlG my son brought one home that looks almost like yours except she is a bit lighter in the face. He calls her Tiger but I am calling her Houdini because she can get out of the shed that we keep her in the back yard! He was house sitting for his sister on Memorial Day weekend and this little ball of fur was obviously abandoned and in the corner of her yard. She was barely eating on her own but is now doing really good and growing fast.

lynnie 10-01-2012 01:17 PM

Give her big hugs from me

DogHouseMom 10-01-2012 01:22 PM

Awww ... all three are keepers (the hubby, the kitty and name (in that order <g>))!!

And I agree with above poster ... she looks like a polydactyl (extra digit on front left foot).

quiltsRfun 10-01-2012 01:29 PM

Cute kitty and I love that name for her.

TnBecky 10-02-2012 05:24 AM

What a pretty little girl. You are married to wonderful man.

PenniF 10-02-2012 05:50 AM

As an added note - he just wasn't able to get near or catch the others - they were already fairly feral even at so young an age. For some reason, this little one proved the old saying "you don't pick a cat, a cat picks you". Camp is in the hill country - in the midst of a cattle / sheep ranch - so lots of "natural" food around. Mom seemed to be doing fairly well taking care of them - so hopefully - even if they are wild kitties, they will be ok. We both have to accept that he did what he could do. Vet check was good - waiting for FIV and leukemia test results today.

Country1 10-02-2012 11:51 AM

She's a doll. My husband would have done the same thing! Looks like we are both lucky enough to have keepers.

canmitch1971 10-02-2012 01:54 PM

What a cutie kitty....

wordpaintervs 10-02-2012 02:04 PM

what precious stories. I'm not a cat person, and once was terrified of them. No longer in that state of mind, thank goodness. Now I can enjoy seeing and petting them.

CarolinePaj 10-02-2012 02:10 PM

What a lovely story... and what a lucky kitty!

Hugs

Caroline

She is a cutie! Your hubby is a keeper. Anyone who rescues a little kitten is A-OK in my book.

How adorable, enjoy your new addition. :)
