:D don't know about them -- but one of our family jokes is about the second best hairdresser who was announced on All My Children one time -- she tried hard and the cast members really looked great -- thus when hair help is needed, we say that they need the second best hairdresser!!

Each of us has things which are like nails on a chalk board to others. Sometimes the scratching noisy just prompts a verbal response. I haven't paid attention to what they look like because looks are not a nails on a chalk board thing for me. I respect your tolerance level and your ability to voice it. Just remember about the glass house...

I like the show, it's only the bobbing head of the youngest that bothers me. Otherwise, the show is great!

I haven't seen the show, but now I would love to! I do think that a certain level of professionalism is important to the survival of a tv show. These days having reasonable hair, hands and wardrobe are pretty basic, especially with high-definition. If they do not maintain minimum standards of styling, I do not see how the show can last.

I agree while they may not be actors or models they are on tv and there appearence is a valuable part of the show as they represent the quilting community. I know many of us are unkept in private when we get to quilting but most of us make surebefore we go out in public we try to look our best with clean hair Also most of us teach our children it is bad manners to talk while someone else is talking

As a newbie, I'm grateful for everything they've shown and taught me. I like the daughter as she brings a fresh perspective to the show. I watched the show with Liz and Marianne, and also with Mary and Marianne. I find the mother/daughter team and projects more interesting.

I think they look fine -- certainly they're on par with other crafting show hosts I see on PBS. They're obviously comfortable with the way they look and so am I. As for how to "politely suggest" they get a stylist... there is no polite way to do so.

I try so hard to watch F & P, but the daughter just irritates me so. She seems to constantly try to over talk or out talk her mother. She makes faces, bobs her head and I agree that her clothes are not approprate for TV. The mother is still professional and I enjoy her trying to do her presentations. I tape the show, but when I try to watch I just get so irritated I turn it off. I miss Liz and he professionalism!! If they have to replace her I'd prefer a more professional quilter not just a relative. I've been wanting to say that for a long time--Wheww!!! Off my chest.

Don't want to offend but...sometimes the appearance of someone says a lot about how the person feels about themselves. I always feel better when I "clean up". I was a beautician in my former life.

At least your PBS station carries the show. Dallas area the only sewing show on PBS is Sew Easy. Gave up supporting them when they dropped all the quilting shows several years ago.

I so disagree with you. I love that mother and daughter seem to get along so well. Neither claims to be perfect and admit to using the seam ripper as needed. I think both women look fine and don't need to look like they just stepped out of the beauty parlor. I like Mary's enthusiasm. If only perfect looking people had TV shows Nancy Ziemann would not have a show either and I like and admire her.
