Although not quilt related, directly it could be indirectly.
I know many of you use your local library for quilting books instead of buying them. I do this also. I was surfing the net looking for a book and ran across this website. http://www.worldcat.org/ you put the title of the book you are looking for in the search and then it will find that book in your nearest library according to your zip code. I found several books that my "local" library doesn't carry, but I can go to the next town over and check them out for free using my local library card because they have a Co-op. Way easier than having to check each libraries catalog one at a time. |
Very cool.

omg! thanks so much!! I use the library frequently & am lucky enough to live only 3 blocks from the local one. This web site will be a great time saver.
|
Thanks for the info!
|
I never knew there was such a thing! Thanks so much.
|
thank you. that is wonderful and handy resource.
|
Thanks!

great to know, thanks
|
Thanks so much! :D
I am tired of buying books. This will be great! |
some libraries have inter loan desks that can order the book for you and you can pick it up at your local one without having to go to another town. I love libraries!!!!
also if you have lots of paperbacks and want more but don't want to buy them, you can swap them for postage costs. www.paperbackswap.com does that. post a minimum amount of books and earn points for each book swapped. just a thought. |
great! thanks for keeping us informed :)

when you are looking to buy a book, bookfinder.com searches internet bookselling sites all over the world.
|
Great information! Thank you!

I don't think you even have to go to the next libary to get the books ,just give the titles and name of author to your local libary and they should be able to order them . at least thats the way it works in Ia.
