I received a delivery for a new love seat yesterday. It came protected with this large dust cover in a fabric similar to dryer sheets. I am thinking it will make great foundation block material?

Great idea!

if the fiber content is not clear, i think i'd wash it first

Good idea to wash it and see how it acts. Thanks QuiltnNan.

I think it would work, you will need to test it first. We got a new mattress and mattress cover. I am going to use the old one for quilt batting. It looks like a thin blanket, no wear as I had it under a mattress topper. Mainly just to store it. I don't usually reuse things but, it is so nice I am going to use it.
It will make for a very warm quilt. Only one like this I have seen. It is washed and dried and ready to use.

WOW!! Why didn't I think of that!! I got a huge sectional a couple of months ago that was completely covered with this stuff :) Makes me sad that I threw it away :(

Let us know how it washes...looks like it should work...

I don't think washing would be a problem but the dryer may melt it a little.
