Free Kindle Books every day

I just read the nice thread about Amazon's amazing service re:Kindle. I thought I would share a source (totally free and legal as far as I know) for free books for Kindle. There is a Web site called pixel of ink (pixelofink.com) that sends a list of free and reduced price Kindle books every day of the week. Clicking on a book takes you right to the Amazon site, so there's no funny stuff going on. Pixel of ink just creates a list of the books Amazon is "selling" for $0.00 on any given day, as well as those that are "on sale" that day.

I have "purchased" more than 100 books for my Kindle this way. There are all sorts of books listed, from vampire mysteries to cookbooks. If you are tired of paying for all your Kindle books, check it out.

FYI -- I have no involvement or financial interest in the site, I just like to save $$$$.

I receive the email daily. This is a good source of books for the kindle/kindle fire. I was surprised at the number of free items available for a limited time. I have no involvement or financial interest in the site. :-)

dcamarote 02-11-2013 01:46 PM

wow. who would have known? thanks for the info. going to check it out.

BellaBoo 02-11-2013 02:33 PM

I've been using Pixel of Ink from the first Kindle I bought. I love it. You never know what book will be free for a day. Also Amazon has a free app every day.

plainpat 02-12-2013 04:06 AM

I use Kindle Buffet for same deal.A daily notice that goes directly to Amazon free E books. Can't have too many good....free...books!:D

romanojg 02-12-2013 04:17 AM

Barnes and Noble have literly thousands of free books 24/7. I've really gotten hooked on several series and new authors this way. I agree, getting them free or reduced is a great way to read.

Dragonomine 02-12-2013 05:32 AM

I subscribe to the site on Facebook and have gotten many books that way. I have only ever purchased a couple books. Just can't afford it. You can also just go to the Kindle store on Amazon and get a list of free and cheap books. Let me look for the link... *elevator music*

Okay, here are several links to sites that Amazon has posted http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_link...d_i=1286228011

And here are the free and cheap books on the site. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?bb...011&sort=price Just select what category you're interested in and click on "Sort by". Choose low to high. You'll get the free books in the list.

I'll have to check this out! I've been going on Amazon's site and finding the free books but this sounds easier. Thank you!!!

I only get free books for my Kindle. They charge the same amount for digital as for paper and since I prefer paper its only free downloads for me. I like to pass my books around the family. Used books are very reasonable thru Amazon.

Belfrybat 02-12-2013 12:33 PM

My favourite is eReaderIQ as the site can be sorted into genres and then saved. They put the new additions first, which I also like. I get so many e-mails, I'd just rather go to the web page and pick my books. http://www.ereaderiq.com/free/ I also like the fact I can hover the cursor over the pic of the book and get a brief synopsis.

nativetexan 02-12-2013 04:07 PM

me too. i use pixel of ink site also. i'm out of books on my Kindle at the moment. must look for more.

Quiltaddict 02-12-2013 04:44 PM

Thank you all so much. I just downloaded about 20 free books, including some very interesting looking cookbooks.

KyKaren1949 02-13-2013 04:24 AM

I also use Inspired Reads, Books on the Knob, Ereader News Today and BookBub for free Kindle books. I've downloaded over 1000 free ones and will NEVER get them all read!

Caswews 02-13-2013 05:49 AM

Gramma Nancy: LOVE to save $$$. have you checked out the Amazon free for Kindle ? There are some good ones there. A few of the Homeschool sites also offer free kindle books .. Thanks for the site !

Nancygeddes 02-13-2013 06:06 AM

Thanks! I am a tight wad and will certainly use the link.;)

karenpatrick 02-13-2013 06:14 AM

I'll pass this onto DH. He has a Kindle and I have a Nook. For those of you who have a Nook, there are 1,800,000.00 +/- on their site. If you have a Nook just do a search for free books and they will come up. A lot of them are smut but not all by any means. A lot of them are the first books in a series. They hope to get you hooked on the series by offering the first book for free. I've read hundreds of the free ones in the 3 years I've had my Nook.

damaquilts 02-13-2013 06:23 AM

Good to know. I use the library for all my books I just can't afford to buy the way I read. I have read 3 books in the last 2 days. But I have noticed that even the library is getting a lot of books on the e reader so I am going to have to break down and save up for a kindle or something. I know I can get it on my computer but I read a lot laying down and the computer is kinda big. lol

Barnes and Noble has an app that you can download for free to read books on. You can even have it on your smartphone. I used to have it on my blackberry. I love the Nook and my Nook Color but in the mean time try the app for your pc and enjoy the free books.

check out www.booksontheknob.org too

HappyQuilter 02-13-2013 08:17 AM

thanks too all of you for the free sites! Haven't bought a book in a long time, I'm going to check this out. Has anyone found any quilt series novels?

Slow2Sew 02-13-2013 08:25 AM

www.inspiredreads.com also has a daily email with free book downloads.

DonnaC 02-13-2013 08:39 AM

Here's another one: http://www.dailycheapreads.com/. They post several times each day, and highlight books that are either free or under $5.00. I have bought a bunch of books that were on my Kindle wishlist just by checking their site and noticing that the prices had gone down significantly.

Nancy Ingham 02-13-2013 08:57 AM

Great information, thank you all for sharing!

Linn 02-13-2013 10:39 AM

I use that site all the time but a better site is EreaderIq which also goes to amazon and has free books. you just have to click the link for free books. I book this site and check it every day and they will also send an email each day. have gotten thousands of free books that way and seldom ever pay for a book any more.

Kimcatlou 02-13-2013 02:00 PM

I love Pixel of Ink. My kindle is full of free books from this site. I especially enjoy the fact that as a result I have read some really good books and discovered new authors that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.

There's a free one today -- haven't even looked at it yet. It's part of the quilts of love series: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...2&tag=paspr-20

gramma nancy 02-13-2013 04:48 PM

Thank you for steering me to ereaderiq.com. I love that you can specify genres and can examine choices by ratings. Now for enough time to read. . ..

Janquiltz 02-13-2013 04:50 PM

Oh boy - thanks for all the websites for finding free books. I use: [email protected] and have been very pleased with the quality of the downloads. Belfrybat - thanks for your "heads-up" too - I jumped over immediately and snagged that one! Now to go check out the other sites, and pass those on to my quilting BFF.

kamaiarigby 02-16-2013 01:14 PM

Thank you for all your advice, I love my kindle fire, I have it set up so that any book I download ( free of course) also downloads onto my daughters e-reader, she lives in Australia and I am in New Zealand.
We gave her the e-reader, she and I have similar tastes in reading, this way it saves. her time and money.

Pat M. 02-16-2013 03:07 PM

I have been using this Web site for about a year. They do have some nice books.

vivoaks 02-16-2013 08:06 PM

ljptexas 02-20-2013 04:42 AM
