A friend of mine wants to send a care package to a soldier in Afghanistan. He would like it to be someone from our local area but that is not a must. If you know of someone who has a loved one posted there... would you consider sending me their name and address and I will relay it to my friend. Actually there are at least two people who are interested. I would then let you know if they are willing to use your suggestions. Thanks

I don' t understand. soldiers get mail through their APO addresses easily.

Some soldiers don't get much mail. let alone packages... My son was the ONLY ONE to receive packages when he was deployed. So we sent lots for him to share.

My nephew would get lots of mail while other soldiers didn't.

I would send him all different kinds of books/magazines/gum/hard candy for him to share.

You can't just send a package to be delivered to a random soldier. You have to have a specific name and address anymore. :D:D:D

When my son was in the Navy, he asked me to either send him something small that he could put in his mouth and eat right then, or else enough for the whole batch of friends. Said when he got a big box of my goodies, on his way back to his bunk there were guys beside him and behind him on deck and others running to catch up. So I sent him lots of goodies, with the exception of Skittles!!!

At Boy Scout camp some nice person donated crates and crates of them and for the summer the boys were on a sugar high!! Now he won't touch them!! And he's 42 now.

Great stories but need names and addresses... can PM me with those. Thanks Friends.

i assume you mean well, but it's inappropriate to collect third party addresses here - particularly those for members of the military services. anyond who volunteers a soldier's name and address must first get his/her permission to provide it to a stranger.

if you go to this website, you'll find addresses offered knowingly and voluntarily by members of every service who are serving overseas.
