If fuel goes up... you know that fabric prices will inch up again too. The manufacturers have to pay more to get the fabric from the mills in Asia, and shops have to pay more to get the fabric shipped to them.

It won't be as dramatic as when cotton prices ran wild last year, but it will still happen.

Yes, and food and clothing and everything else goes up. Except wages - I haven't had a raise in 8 years and probably never will.

Gas Buddy dot com to locate the cheapest gas in US and Canada. Plan ahead. It WILL be at least $5.00/gal by Memorial Day. Unfortunately, all the conditions internationally are perfect for this.

Pity the poor truckers. Diesel is a couple of cents higher than gasoline. Semis get about 8mpg and they have 500 gallon tanks. Try paying for a fillup once or twice a week costing upwards of $2K. That's another reason why the price of anything delivered in a truck is going up.

Everything moves by truck at some point. All the building materials in your house, all the furnishings in your house, every single food item in your house, and all the clothes you own came by truck. Sustained high fuel prices hurt the price of *everything.*

I haven't been out for a few days so I'm not sure what gas is here now. The last time I filled up it was 3.29 but that's been close to a month ago. The cost to fill up hubby's car has jumped every week for the last three weeks.
