~ Chocolate is a Vegetable: Chocolate is derived from cocoa beans. Bean = vegetable. Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category. Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.

~ To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk, which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food. Chocolate-covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

~ If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly. The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car. The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

~ Diet Tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you'll eat less.

~ If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?

~ Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

~ Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.

~ A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Now, isn't that handy?

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I love those things too! I have to be careful to only eat a few at a time. Just a tablespoon of whole coffee beans makes almost a full mug of coffee, so even a small handful of chocolate-covered ones will pack a punch (and there's caffeine in chocolate, too!). The crunch of those coffee beans is soooo addictive, though!

Also, calories are afraid of hights. If you put your chocolate on top of the fridge for 5 min., the calories commit suicide by jumping out of the candy and off the fridge. Then you can consume the chocolate guilt free. lol

Painiacs 09-30-2011 06:19 PM

You tell it girl!

I have a Dr's appt. next week and need to show her this to prove I am eating right. LOL!!!

cyniree 10-01-2011 04:39 AM

Awesome.

Iraxy 10-01-2011 04:40 AM

I am so jealous! I cannot eat chocolate nor can I have coffee. It gives me palpitations for hours. But I can read and relate because I used to love chocolate and ate tons of it (so glad I did too because I have memories of the delicious richness of it!). I also spent summers across from a coffee plantation so had lots of experience with dark rich delicious coffee freshly roasted. Yum!!
So guys, write on so I can vicariously enjoy your pleasures.

sandpat 10-01-2011 05:37 AM

Hey...I'll buy into this one! LOL!

quiltaroni 10-01-2011 05:38 AM

Thank you for the info, I do like to get my facts straight and dipped in chocolate is so delightful.

michelehuston 10-01-2011 05:40 AM

That perfectly fits to my theory!!! A milk chocolate bar with almonds is a well rounded meal!! Dairy, vegetable (I didn't put that in with theory at first, but now I can!!) and protein!! Sounds like lunch to me!!!

hikingquilter 10-01-2011 05:56 AM

"I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter!" :)

Stitchit123 10-01-2011 08:05 AM

Whew what a relief I was afraid I wasn't eating enough veggies :-) But I always start the day with 1/2 of a candy bar with nuts for the protein and dairy now I'll have part of my veggies taken care of too. What a bonus :-)

bearisgray 10-01-2011 08:06 AM

works for me!

Caswews 10-01-2011 12:06 PM

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. gimme chocolate and no one gets hurt LOL !!!!!!

momto5 10-01-2011 12:11 PM

The only thing that makes chocolate better is............MORE CHOCOLATE!!!! (And possibly if someone could figure out a way to wrap freshly made chocolate around freshly brewed [and still hot!] freshly ground coffee...)...

annyroony2 10-01-2011 04:00 PM

Like I have said before "I am addicted to M&Ms."

quiltmau 10-01-2011 04:23 PM

if you break the chocolate, the calories leak out and therefore broken chocolate is calorie free

Homemother 10-01-2011 06:08 PM

When "stressed", the logical solution to counteract the stress is to have chocolate.

STRESSED spelled backwards is DESSERTS!!!

I am so glad to know that. Another thing to do is eat the chocolate and then jump up and down three times so the calories will fall out of your feet. froggyintexas

Mad Mimm 10-01-2011 09:17 PM

LOL! Chocolate comes from a bean, therefore, it is a vegetable!!! And veggies are good for you; eat all you want!
 ;)

Spuddy 10-08-2011 05:12 PM

I have always said chocolate is a vegie because it comes from a coco bean. I liked your article. Thank you :XD:

Tink's Mom 10-08-2011 05:15 PM

Dark Chocolate is good for you...I wish my Dr. believed me...
