Here is a pic of Heidi with her Purple panda napping on the couch. And a pic of the 2 of them looking out the window. Doesn't Gus look all better?

She usually has a "baby" in her mouth. She was rescued from a puppy mill, having many litters before I got her at 3 1/2 years old. So she always has to carry something around with her. Right now it is the purple panda; she has a preference for all things purple.

Qbee 02-09-2011 04:38 PM

Well how TOTALLY cute!!! You'll have to buy purple fabric by the bolt and make lots and lots of babies for her....poor little (well...big) baby :D

Obviously not on the couch. I have a chair she lets me sit in. Since they are not allowed to go upstairs to the bedroom because of Gus's surgery, she decided to claim the couch. She likes to sit on laps. And if anyone comes in and sits on the couch she will try to squeeze them off or bark till they make room for her. She is one funny dog, quite the talker. Never had a dane before, but sure love her and she is as gentle as can be with kids.

I do too; have always had big dogs. Heidi weighs about 130 and Gus is just under 100 lbs.

Cybrarian 02-09-2011 05:18 PM

How fortunate you all found each other. They are both gorgeous!

Qbee 02-09-2011 05:34 PM

I love them all! Big, small, medium...LOL! Actually, I always had big dogs and really didn't care for little "yappy" dogs but then my DD got the little furbaby in my avatar (and we know who's dog she became) and now I love the little ones too :D What I have learned is that little dogs are sometimes not well behaved because they are not trained as well. My dad spent alot of time with our little furbaby before he died and he insisted that we train her not to bite, to lay on her back, etc. He always had Rott's so teaching them "who's the boss" was very important and he did the same thing with our little 4 pound bundle. He made a good point saying that we let tiny dogs chew on our fingers, jump up on us, etc. because they are so little...then it becomes a problem. So thanks to him, our little furball is very well behaved :D
Oh...and VERY loved!! :D

She is a small dane, my vet says she is a combo of 2 kinds of dane, he thinks a fawn and I forget which other. I love her ears.

what a sweet picture...I love animals..We have 2 labs inside and several neighborhood cats that we feed outside...We also have a neighbor that had a severe car wreck 3 weeks ago,and we go feed and play with his cat everyday...Our friend has some brain injuries and he may never come back home..His cat is 15 years old so we all try to keep him busy while his owner is in the hospital...poor kitty..I know he is wondering where his daddy is...

They are both so good looking!!
And Gus looks like he is feeling much better!!!
Have you moved back into your sewing room yet, or are you still in the kitchen???
How much longer before Gus can go upstairs???
So glad to see him looking so much better!!!

Thank you for sharing the pictures. Your babies are so beautiful. I am so glad Gus is doing so well. I have a very long and lanky female lab, will be one next week, who always has a baby (stuffed of course) in her mouth. We laugh saying she will make a good mommy but I have had her fixed so she will never be able to.

BETTY62 02-09-2011 06:50 PM

Yes, Gus is much better, I think pretty much back to normal. He goes on the 23rd for his last visit with the surgeon. Hopefully he will be given a clean bill of health and be able to resume normal activity. We are still sleeping on the air mattress in the little room. Every time I go up to the bedroom to get dressed Gus tries to figure out how to get over the gate. And I am tired of these COLD treks outside many times a day. I am getting my exercise though. And I do still have a sewing machine in the kitchen, keeps them company.

Oh what cute dogs.. They look so funny checking out the neighbour hood .

JEM65 02-10-2011 08:35 AM

Oh how I love Great Danes, they are some of the gentlest dogs ever! We lost ours to cancer 4 years ago and still miss her everyday. Your pups are awesome.
