Batik quilts - all batik or mixing with other fabrics?

JustAbitCrazy 09-18-2018 04:18 AM

Usually I mix them, but I've also made a couple of quilts with all batiks. Quilts made with all batiks are stunning!

Most of your favorite/collected quilt patterns are: free downloads, from books, from magazines, individually bought, unique patterns you designed yourself.

Mostly made up by me, but a few traditional ones that are free.

Husband's car repairs - he does it or he gets a professional.

Tiny Tigger 09-18-2018 09:08 AM

He does it. He loves working on the car, one of the reasons we got an older model (94 mustang) as it isn't completely computerized and he can still do alot of the work himself.

cotton candy or funnel cakes?

zozee 09-18-2018 12:59 PM

What a choice!! I'm known to love cotton candy but I can't resist funnel cake. One time my son and his (now) wife pranked me at an indoor flea market. They pointed to a huge red machine that was tumbling cottony goodness around. He pointed, "Mom! Look! Want some cotton candy?" I said, "Sure! You want some too? I'll buy." They said yes and let me hurry down the aisle well ahead of them, to the cotton candy machine. I pulled out my wallet and asked the seller, "How much for the cotton candy?" SHe put her arm around me, and in a kindly southern accent, says, "Oh, honey. This iddnt cawtin candy. It's Build-a-Bear stuffing."

I turned as red as the machine and turned to see my son and his girlfriend. THey were doubled over laughing so hard!! I have never lived it down. They buy me cotton candy for Mother's Day, Christmas, and sometimes my birthday.

Anyway, back to this or that...
