No one even mentioned that the president continues his moratorium on drilling....and then gives South America $2B to drill off the coast of Venezuela for George Soros' company.
America...wake up. This president is spreading the wealth to other countries while the U.S. has been downgraded today to the 3rd economic power.
We are quickly becoming a third world LAWLESS country.
Let's hope you have food storage and have researched ways to simplify your life.
$5 gal is just a start. If Libya burns their oil fields...plan on $8-10 a gal. The world will stand still and people all over the world will starve.

Fusion 02-25-2011 05:02 PM

Be glad you are in the US, in the Toronto, Ontario area we are paying 1.20/litre or approx 4.80 a US gallon!!!!. And the Cdn dollar is currently par or better. Darn gov't taxes.

Judy_M 02-25-2011 05:04 PM

$3.29 in Arizona

LovinMySoldier 02-25-2011 05:07 PM

My husband went to work yesterday morning and the price was 3.32 at the Chevron just down past our house. When he came home it was 3.45. Big jump in 8 hours.

SillyStitcher 02-25-2011 05:14 PM

It is 3.45 in Sturgis right now.

quilting librarian 02-25-2011 05:50 PM

I paid $3.73 a few days ago. Ouch.

Elisabrat 02-25-2011 05:55 PM

$3.97 cash price, .10c more gas/credit card. We live in the mountains. There are two stations. Its about $3.82 down below but it runs about $10 to go get it. Not worth the savings at the pump if it takes that much to get there and back. Thankfully we go out not too often. I have used only $20 worth of gas in the last week and enough for one more trip to town to boot. I go out much less than I would normally. Just not worth it. Once a week shopping is fine. If I forget it, we do without it. Getting good at not forgetting :)

ging10ging 02-25-2011 06:02 PM

Here is Port Charlotte, Fl. gas is 3.49 this week. It seems to go up about .20 per time the tanker comes or they get a call to change it. We are right near the exit to 75 so they don't have to travel inland for our gas stations.

Nettie Phillips 02-25-2011 06:38 PM

3.19 in Alabama

imanoni 02-25-2011 06:43 PM

It seems to me that the sun is in the sky for more than to light the day...Maybe God had a plan for us to harness that for something other than sunbathers and the few that have discovered that it will heat their business and homes...no one has ever made a really big deal about discovering the hidden purposes of it to help the whole world...Oil will someday be gone, maybe not in my lifetime or yours.........I'm just sayin'

nwm50 02-25-2011 07:08 PM

Oooops! Didn't see this topic was already created when i posted a gas price info. Mine is $3.29 today, yesterday it was $3.15........

DonnaB 02-25-2011 07:27 PM

Usually you can get cheaper gas at pumps further away from the freeways or interstates - at least that might help some.

jojosnana 02-25-2011 07:49 PM

donnalynett 02-25-2011 07:57 PM

Guess who’s getting richer... and guess who’s paying for all that oil spill last year. The oil company’s are getting sued so where do you think they are getting their money to pay for their mess..... YOU got that right... All US HARD WORKING MIDDLE CLASS CITIZENS.

Momma_K 02-26-2011 01:11 PM

Wow yeah, I forgot about the oil spill!

Gramie bj 02-26-2011 01:36 PM

gas is 3.35 and up, mostly up

amyjo 02-26-2011 01:38 PM

3.40 here in North Dakota and in the oil boom with oil wells popping up all over my county (Mountrail Co. in ND). The Bakken Rocks as they say- but who is getting this oil? Not us that is for sure. It is going somewhere else instead of our own country. Our Farmers Union station in Stanley ND is one of the highest places to fill up and the sign above their doors says
BAKKEN CENTRAL. I am sure most of you know that the Farmers Union stations are supposed to be a coop, giving back to the people who are members, but most have been sold to an outfit from South America called ENERBASE. That price was from yesterday and I am sure it is higher today.

Another interesting point I read yesterday...Canada is our biggest supplier. Saudi Arabia gives us just over 2% of our crude. Most of theirs goes to Europe....which we all know has very high prices. Hummmm!

Just imagine how nice it would be here in the US if the Gov had not run the business out of Dodge with the high taxes on them to do business.

arimuse 02-28-2011 07:22 AM

debssheltie, I dont believe that - business run off - I ran a business and the govt was the least of it. W/O rules and regs (which is where we're now headed) the people who are just plain crooked can simply destroy the public. Example, they can poison you like the chinese do to their own with foods tainted by chemical additives to make more profit (I had 2 cats killed by cat foods made w/ chinese imported additives). The business left the country when it became free to outsource everything from here. There are now humans on the planet who are simply fodder for businesses - work 24/7(in 16 hr shifts,) live above the factory, are locked in there, and make anywhere from 7C an hr to maybe 45$ a month in pay. Making things we once made here and had nice solid jobs doing, and could raise a family on. There is no one in the USA who can live on even what the govt states is minimum pay anymore. What do you think business would pay as wages if their werent a min pay rate? Business does not want to pay, period. Gas goes up - who pays? business doent take the hit, it doesnt even split the hit, it falls on us. The hit comes right from the top - oil doesnt not even break even in any quarter anymore, if they arent makeing 600% profit they think theyre "losing". How very sick is that?
We (hubs has $$!, I dont - hes a second hubs and everything goes to his son) went to the opening of a Fidelity investors hub on Hilton Head Island 2-3 weeks ago and everyone there was "specially invited"(read they had millions to invest),they wined and dined us all day, and I mean DINED! They were trying to get people to put their money into managed accts. The last "sale" (think timeshare here) speech made me so angry I got sick at the end and when we left threw my goody bag at a secretary and said keep it, the guy speaking should join the 21 century. He said how FIREMAN and POLICEMEN were raping investors whith their high pensions! and there was a "movement in place to take care of this" - many cops and firemen are former military guys, they can die for us doing their jobs! I knew a fireman who died trying to save a house, died for a house - what a waste. What an idiot this guy was - He went on to try and scare these people into investing by saying how terrible things were now(he did his job, after I spoke to a retiree on my way out and she was almost in tears over thinking of losing money), but "the bright side is - there are more people looking for work than jobs so wages can be lowered" LOWERED!! when everything is going thru the roof! This is why you have strong govt regs! So snakes and corporations like this cant rape and pillage the public for every drop of blood they can suck out of you. Hubs got a laugh out of the whole thing, he said it was all to scare people out of their money - just eat the food, drink the booze, listen to the band and leave. oh, and yake your money w/ you and never give it to other people to "watch over". sharet

I agree, it is pretty sick. Business found it cheaper to manufacture overseas so they moved things, that ended up with people here losing jobs, lost material goods as overseas kept part of what we sent to be processed. Now they are keeping a larger share - cotton, due to weather problems over there, and sending us less processed goods. Is that fair, no not really, unless we have plants here in the states to process our raw materials it will continue to be this way.

if my math is right you are paying just under 80cents for the equivilent of one of our litre's. we pay approx 1.60 per ltre
there is 3.78541 lts to your gallon which works out to approx $6.00 AU for 1 gal US petrol/gasoline.

so we certainly know how you feel and its going to be worse with the unrest in Oil countries
I am going to buy another bicycle lol
