GMA's Robin Roberts

Did anyone else have tears running down your face this morning watching Robin Roberts last day on GMA this morning?

What a wonderful and strong woman she is!

just janet 08-30-2012 06:12 PM

Yes, she's a "class act" I wish her well.

burchquilts 08-30-2012 10:11 PM

I've always been a huge fan of Robin Roberts. Like was said earlier, she's a class act. I feel so bad about her health problems & wish her a speedy & full recovery from this latest set back.

SueDor 08-31-2012 02:20 AM

Wishing her a speedy recovery!

Joset 08-31-2012 03:11 AM

yes i did see it i cried through the whole thing. my prayers are with her.

elseebee 08-31-2012 03:24 AM

And now we are hearing that she made it home through the storm to be with her mother as she died. What a strong, beautiful woman who is an inspiration to us all!

jeank 08-31-2012 03:42 AM

I watched that show with tears too. I knew she was going to see her mom, I didn't know the mom died. What a blow to Robin as she enters her health treatment. I thought she was going just to see her mom before entering.

My friend went through this same thing. she was not allowed any contact with family during it because the immunity is lowered. She came through it well. My friend's mom died during the confinement and she could not go to the funeral. This condition is a result of the chemo used for breast cancer.

Robin will be back, she is a strong person.

Al Roker her husband said on the Today show she will be back-with many prayers she will be back as soon as she can-Love goes out to her and her family too-Best Wishes for a speedy recovery Robin-Prayers also

joyce j 08-31-2012 05:54 AM

Robin Roberts is not married. Al Roker is not her husband. Al is Married to a Robin, though. Cant think as to what her last name is right now. But are prayers go out to Robin Roberts an hope every thing goes well. joyce j

This is correct. She is real sweet looking and quite good at what she does.

judykay 08-31-2012 06:33 AM

My thoughts are also with her, she is such a delightful and wonderful person. I thought the book that was given her with messages from well wishers was really a neat idea and she really seemed appreciative of everything. What a WONDERFUL & SPECIAL lady.

Sewfine 08-31-2012 07:48 AM

Yes, Best wishes on her recovery and condolence for the family. She was able to make to Mississippi Gulf Coast amist of the bad weather to be with her mother yesterday before she passed away late Thursday night. Her mother "Lucimarian Roberts" was 88 years old. Her and Robin wrote a book entitled "My Story, My Song."

matraina 08-31-2012 08:10 AM

Al Roker and Robin Roberts both have Ohio ties but are not married to each other. Robin is a very strong person and our prayers go out to her.

carolynjo 08-31-2012 09:57 AM

You are right. Al is married to Deborah Roberts.

My heart just sank when I heard that news last night. The only "up side" to this (maybe?)? My Mother used to say that bad things come in 3's so maybe now Robin's bad stuff is behind her. I hope so. I have so much respect for her. She is such a class act in a time when there are so few on TV.

Robin's sister, Sally Ann Roberts, is a news anchor on the CBS station in New Orleans. Wonderful Christian lady. She is the 'Perfect Match' for what Robin is needing. Sally Ann and CBS affiliate in NO have made a significant contribution to donor awareness having had several "Perfect Match" events in New Orleans where people come and are tested to be bone marrow and organ donors, etc. The entire Roberts family have always "bloomed where they were planted'. The world needs more people like them.

I think I heard on Thursday that GMA will have a like on their website that we can go to and see what the doctors are saying about her progress. I wish her well. A friend went through bone marrow transplant so I know what is involves.

maryb119 08-31-2012 05:12 PM

Robin roberts is a class act. I wish her well for her health and happines. It will be hard for her losing her mom and then going thru the treatment but her faith will bring her strength.

You are really missing a wonderful show. GMA is truly a family. Josh was visibly upset yesterday on Robin's last day. I also had tears rolling down my face. She is a role model that I would like to be like. A truly wonderful person.

Dee 08-31-2012 08:20 PM

Prayers and hugs go out to a "class act". She is one in a million. Felt so bad for her, as she has gone thru so much.

kathdavis 08-31-2012 08:35 PM

When her treatment is done, will she be returning to GMA? My husband said that he doesn't think she will be returning. I would really, really hate that.

My understanding is that she will. I hope so. I just have a bad feeling about all this & I pray I'm wrong. I just admire her so much.

Just Me... 09-01-2012 02:18 AM

I was late for work because I was so enthralled with her send-off. I agree that she is a class act and take solace in her family's spirituality and support for one another. I had to re-put my make-up on after this one! Prayers are with her as she embarks on this journey....

DixieLee 09-01-2012 05:00 AM

She is a class act for sure and has been through so much. I hope this treatment finally gets everything back on track for her. I think she will be back.

mskityocat 09-01-2012 05:47 AM

I teared as she was sooooo brave throughout that show to hold it together. You could tell that her entire coworker staff was genuine and still she held it together and was soooo strong. I would have been a blubbering mess.

Linda58 09-01-2012 10:03 AM

Love Robin Roberts, a class act for sure.

I heard her co-anchors on the show paid for an airplane to fly by, pulling a banner thaat had words of encouragement for her. Wasn't her dad in the Tuskegee Airmen? It seems like I've heard her talk about him. I just think of her so often & send her a little get well wish in my mind.

Eileen De Ville 09-05-2012 01:12 PM

So nice to see so many quilters wishing Robin Roberts a speedy return to good health. Robin is a very strong role model for so many women. Now, with losing her mother, she will need all our prayers many times over. For those of you that believe in prayer, let's combine our prayers and send them in her direction. Get well soon, Robin.

tenngal 09-07-2012 03:36 AM

You are correct - Deborah ROberts.

burchquilts 09-10-2012 12:42 PM
