Good Book
My book club just read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Everyone liked it, so thought some of you might enjo,y also. It is about the cells that were taken from a cancer patient in the 1950s and are still in use today for all kinds of research. It explains a lot of the science and the beginning of the research as well as the family of the woman the cells were taken from.

I heard about this story long ago. Amazing what science can do.

I read it and liked it as well.

Thanks for the tip, I just reserved it at my local library. Interestingly, my library system not only has several individual copies, but also a "book group discussion kit" that includes 11 copies of the book and a discussion guide.

That's how our book club read it - a kit. It helps a lot if we can get a kit and pass it out when we meet. It's sometimes hard for all of us to get copies of other books. Hope you like it.
