Puuleezee give us a break, this was the prevailing blah blah back then. They forgot to say not to chide him for having a mistress because his job is so stress-full he needs to spend time with someone younger and hotter than you, and oh yes, he likes his scrambled eggs soft but not runny, his shirts with light starch and the socks rolled from the top down. I don't know who wrote this but he needs to be turning on a spit in a hot place full of angry women.

OMG!!! You are right ... no wonder ...
Is this straight from "Leave it to Beaver"?
I wonder if there really were women who tried to be this way?

Anyway ... it ain't happenin' at this house!!! LOL

Are you kidding me, A good wife always knows her place? I am so mad now I could spit nails! No wonder the Hippie Generation came about. I do a lot of things for my DH because I want to. I know my Grandmother did her best to do this for my Grandfather with three daughters, one with Cerebral Palsy and a son born when she was in her early 40's. She was all alone when my Grandfather left for WWII. Sheesh! I feel spoiled compared to all of that.

I agree Gramma Nan I love my husband we are equal I make sure dinner is ready because I love too sit with my family and enjoy the company it is relaxing and we all enjoy it. I do some of these things but not because I have to because it just seems right. Wow what an interesting article. But that is in the past and in todays world would not hold up too well. My place is right next to my husband working as a team!!!

Thanks for the laugh.

I do a lot of those things for my husband cheerfully.
That's how I was raised, a woman takes care of the home her husband provides for her. My husband makes sure I have what my heart desires, a new truck every few years, a fantastic sewing room and plenty of laughter in the house.

Sadly, yes there were. I know this from my own family, however I never did learn my place...in my family it was God/the church/males of any age and then women, children last of all. I guess I was just too stubborn and obstinate as I was so often told by my grandmother. I got out as soon as I could and never looked back. I am still an uppity woman.
