The Good Place ????

Just watched the first episode on demand.....cannot describe it! Why, what.........?

nativetexan 09-23-2016 09:55 AM

yeah. i like the little blond actress and even Ted Danson. Don't like the show though.

I am watching Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries on PBS on Thurday nights here. I really like it.

nativetexan 09-23-2016 01:29 PM

oh if you can catch it, Hamilton on MHz worldview is good. subtitled Swedish show. michael persbrant plays Hamilton. Action show. he was a detective on Beck also. I love European shows, even if they are subtitled.

I am watching Project Runway on Thursdays. The participants's personalities are worse than many 'reality' shows, but I've always loved the creativity and the runway portion. Not into too much major channel tv any more.

Love Miss Fisher. Read as many of the books as I could years ago; long before the show.

I used to watch Project Runway and then got out of the habit. I had an entire season on the DVR and then we moved before I could watch it. What interested me most was the workroom and the sewing machines!!

I don't see many of these new shows lasting long. Only got into MacGyver for a few minutes. The Good Place lasted about 5-10 minutes. Gave me motivation to get couple things done in my sewing room. Love Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing".

My husband and I watched the Good Place last night but will be sure and change the channel next time. I don't see how they will be able to come up with too many storylines. I like the actors but that is not enough for me.

I love Project Runway and usually watch it on my iPad. Couple of nights later. The first season the designs and often the people were horrible but now I think the designers have gotten nices and more talented. For the most part the designers are supportive of each other, but it is a competition after all. And unfortunately, as with most realty TV, there needs to be some drama for the contestants to get any airtime and promote their work.

I love Miss Fletcher mysteries, too. I can't wait for the new season to start.

I also can't wait, although I didn't see it on the new line-up, for Harry and Doyle. Is that the name of it? It was the one with Harry Houdini and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I really liked that show.

I am also sorry that Grimm is going off this year. I enjoyed it, but I do think that they were running out of ideas.

that runway

Yuck! I watched it once----drama divas..and what they "created" was unwearable for most women, The runway "models" we're so skinny and hard faced and thumped up and down that runway as though they were mad at the world..... And probably were...dreaming of a hamburger and fries.....just kidding!!!!! I'm not into those real people type(?) programs. But do enjoy a good drama or comedy. Like last man standing, but noticed canned laughter was a bit much!!!! Looks like slim pickins' this season.......

How did "The Good Place" ever get on television???
We recorded 3 new shows: The Good Place, Notorious & Cloud. Notorious was the only one with real acting and a good plot. My guess is the other 2 will be cancelled shortly. We only watched 10 minutes of the other two.

Oh, I am sorry that Houdini and Doyle was cancelled. Darn. Yep, it is getting slim pickings!

I really enjoyed 30 Degrees in February. Swedish, subtitles. Excellent drama.

Geri B 09-26-2016 04:18 AM

Subtitles...I cannot watch something with too many subs...gets confusing trying to watch the acting and also read what they're saying! But I'm noticing more and more use of them... Also trying to read what's on someone's smart phone! I do not have a super large screened tv...so it's unreadable unless I'm a fly on the screen!

Two thumbs down on the Good Place--and I do like Danson and Kristen Bell, too. MacGyver--hmm---I like his sidekick from the old CSI but the main character is too "pretty"--and then realized he looks like a very polished version of my high school boyfriend--yikes! But thought it was a dud.

scorpius 09-28-2016 05:20 AM

what day is it on a I did not think it aired yet ,

Is it really that bad? Ted Danson is a good actor so perhaps its worth giving it a chance
