Granddaughter thinks I can do anything

I get a phone call from 17 yr old and she asks can you make me a Princess Anna dress? I say do you have a pattern? She says no, do you need one? Hmm not a magician honey. So I said how much time do I have to figure this out? May 4th is the party. Ok probably need to come up with another plan.

Gotta love kids who still think you're a super hero I guess.

Count your blessings! I have custody of an almost 15-year-old granddaughter who would not be caught dead in anything I might make for her!!

Not sure how lucky you are. I never made any dress party worthy. I only make quilts.

My grandkids think the same thing!! Gets me in trouble sometimes too. My 12 year old granddaughter has spent the last 3 weekends sewing a Laura Engels Wilder costume. I walked her through making the bonnet one day, the pinafore the next week and today she made the dress.

Another granddaughter made an apron one weekend. Then she lost it somewhere at home. I told her she could make another one -- she just looked at me and said "Do you know how much work they are?" She makes me laugh!

I started my sewing craft by making halloween costumes. I made so many princess costumes. Then I thought, I can make Easter dresses. Daisy Kingdom, here I come. The main difference is ironing seams open for clothing. It's always rewarding when you hear your older teen age children return home from the party, saying "Oh my gosh! This one girl shouted at me from across the gym! I don't even know her, but she knew the character I was dressed up as for halloween!" This happened often for both of my 'gaming' children! It's so worth it. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Love those grandchildren. My granddaughter called me two weeks before Christmas and asked if we could make her mom a quilt for Christmas. No sewing experience on her part but lets do it. So close to Christmas and of course I had nothing else to do. I bought a panel and we went from there and got it done,
Another gem is when at 9pm they ask you to make cookies for school in the am.
On the bright side I guess we should be happy they think of us as being magic.
