I woke this morning to a strange smell in the living room (I gave my room up to my sister for the baby) and I found the windex on it's side and it was open... How? No one knows... It was all over the table, floor, and managed to get into the bag that I had the fabric of the quilt I'm trying to make...
The color looks like it's been bleached and now has splotches... So I'm just going to scrap that project and start a new one... |
OH NOOOOO!!!!! I'm sorry that your fabric was ruined. Any chance of maybe rinsing and letting it hang to dry and maybe using for another project?
|
I might be able to do that with the fabric that wasn't in direct hit... I could use that to make my sister baby quilt... or some cute pillows or something... I used the scrap fabric to make the Doll quilt for the Swap... it's really cute! lol
I had the top done and was like, oh my god! This would make a cute throw pillow! lol... I'm hoping that not all the fabric is destroyed... I throw those in the wash tomorrow ... |
Oh, good luck. That sounds miserable! I'd be furious with whoever did that (and you can bet I'd found out quickly)!
|
Haha, when it happened I was asleep and everyone else was not home... were trying to figure out how the bottle opened.
|
Iiiiinteresting (said in my best inspector voice)!
That would be so irritating, anyway. Any way to salvage the project? Or another fabric that you liked almost as much to replace it? |
I think the rest of the squares that were unused are salvageable... so i'll use them in smaller projects... Which won't take me that long to complete. I'll get more fabric soon...
This fabric was from a kit that they don't sell anymore. So I'll have to make do with what I have available. |
That's too bad. :(
A good natural substitute for Windex is a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. It won't harm cloth. Just in case it happens again! |
I'll try that... Thanks!
