I ran across a yard sale that had a huge lot of new name brand Valentine greeting cards....over 800 of them...but not very many envelopes. I was wondering if there are some crafty items that people make out of these? Ideas? They were cheap so I couldn't pass them up. :-)

I saw an amazing wreath made of cards cut into shapes glued onto toothpicks and arranged into a Styrofoam wreath. These would look great cut into hearts.

I would say make some envelopes for them and use them as a card. They are not hard to make really from the heavier type paper you can get at the craft stores. Or you could check at a scrapbook store for envelope templets.

I have made kids placemats from cut up christmas cards. You elmer's glue them collage style onto lace or paper and then enclose it in clear contact plastic sheets. Run a stitch around the edges and then cut them out just beyond that with pinking sheers. Kids love them.

I also made the cut outs on a kabob sticks and then arrange them like flowers in into a cute pot that has the styrofoam glued inside. Add some greenery on top of the strofoam to hide it. Oh, I add some ribbon and decorations to the pot as a finishing touch.

If they are all about the same size, I think one can buy/order envelopes from a printing place. (If you want to send them)

You could cut some up into quilt blocks and mount and frame them.
I have also seen them cut into abstract shapes and strips and put together as large wall hangings. If you glued them to a black background and left even spaces between it looks like stained glass work.
Paper can be used like fabrics and vice versa

Greeting cards make the best little gift boxes! Just cut the corners and fold and tape...top half and bottom half for the box..can put money, gift cards a love note, etc in them. Or if you have a ton of them and don't know what to do w/them...donate to your day care! They love to have 'stuff' to make their own crafts...Skeat
