I am thinking about buying one -

Do any of you have any experience with the three following brands?

Hiker

Stimpson

Red Rhino

They are all in the 200-300 dollar range plus cost of grommets and additional dies.

I want one for making backpacks for kids in hospitals.

Sorry I know nothing about the grommet hand presses. Guess I will have to look at them online to see what they do! What a nice thing for you to do - making backpacks for kids in hospitals. If a press would make it easier then you deserve to get one!
