Guess what I hear!

Got up to get a drink and stopped to check out the forum and then realized I am hearing rain! WOW what a sound we don't hear anymore! No to open a window and snuggle under the covers.

coloradosky 09-27-2012 11:49 PM

Wonderful! Hope if continues in a nice soaking rain to allow the ground to absorb every drop.

We have been listening to the rain for a few days now in Grandfalls Tx. It is so wonderful to have the doors and windows open and listen to that brilliant sound and smell that glorious freshness. Hubby and I will be moving back to Southern Oregon within a few months, I know why I have missed this so much!

I'm glad some is finally heading out your way! We're supposed to get a bit more rain, tomorrow; nature has been much kinder to us this year, compared to last.

Ccorazone 09-28-2012 07:20 AM

We got a bit of rain early this morning. At least it is cooler. More rain expected tomorrow. I hope it is a slow gentle rain that last all day. I love rain on the weekend when there is nothing to do or places one has to be, that way we can have family time.

Here in Colorado we too have been finally getting some rain after only 4" all year. We need it so badly and hopefully the whole country where it is dry will get some moisture. I'm sure most all of Texas needs it badly as we do.

I'm in El Paso...it rained last night and this morning it is overcast...maybe we will get more today but probably not. very grateful for what we do get, though!

Wanabee Quiltin 09-29-2012 06:53 AM

yeah, we are camping here in New Mexico not far from you and it rained all day yesterday off and on. Not heavy rain, but rain that is so needed.

Rose_P 09-29-2012 12:24 PM

We are appreciating our rainy day, too, but I know exactly what finally brought it on. We are in the process of replacing an old wood deck. All we had to do to get rain was have the workers expose that 300 sq feet of dusty ground outside the back door and it was absolutely certain to turn to mud. Sorry - we would have had this done much sooner if only we'd realized! :p

We are in Galveston, TX and it started raining today, too! It has been so dry here and in other parts of TX. We are enjoying the rain, even tho' we are moving. We have a covered trailer and move boxes between the rains.

Congratulations Texas. It's about time!

scoutersmom 09-30-2012 03:50 PM

It started raining last night. It puts me to sleep, I woke up LATE this morning, it was still raining!. So far, we've got about 5 1/2 inches, and it is just drizzling now. We sure do need it!

jollyquilting 09-30-2012 05:41 PM

I too, am from Co and almost cried for joy when it rained,. A real rain that wasn't just a few drops of water thst didn't run together, called a shower. LOL It is so dry and the pastures are almost gone for the few cows we have,

sandybeach 10-01-2012 02:40 PM

Could you please send it our way? It is 100 degrees again today, and not a drop in sight.

CarolinePaj 10-01-2012 03:46 PM
