I am looking at this a couple years down the road. You are making feel much better about it.

merrylouw 11-15-2010 02:23 PM

I had mine done 5 years ago, and have been so happy with the results!!!

I have 3 suggestions for you. Stay ahead of the pain -- take your pain meds. Use your ice packs several times a day. And, do your physical therapy faithfully. You'll do great!

Hugs and blessings.

Hi shortstuf, sorry to hear about your knee replacement, but the main thing now to do is the PT, I had both of mine done and that is what helped the most, just keep doing the theropy, if your knee freezes up then you wiil have to go back into the hospital and have it broken loose and thats no fun beleive me I had to have my shoulder done that way and boy you don't want to have to do that. I am sure that you will be up and round before to long, I will keep you in my prayers and big hugs to you . take care and let us know how things go with you.

Had both of mine replaced three years ago - I wish it would have been sooner. It can be daunting, but you will never regret it. Keep working on your PT - it is REALLY important. Before long you will be flying.

I'll keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery. My reconstructive surgery on my left knee was Nov 3. I'm now in PT and feeling pretty good although I can't put any weight on it for 4 more weeks. we'll just keep plugging away :D

Great news on your progress. My mum had her right knee replaced in Feb and is doing really well. She's even been on short hikes with my DH and me. :)
She wishes she'd done it earlier. Also...PT...an absolutely MUST and it looks like you've already got that message.
Stay well.

I had my left knee replaced 5 years ago. I was only 50 but the knee was bone on bone. ouch!! Ice packs and PT are your friends.
