Thanks so much all you wonderful ladies! I've stayed away from shaving and waxing I was afraid of ending up with a think mustache and beard in my older years. But you ladies have given me something more to think about. I feel confident to try the Loreal cream I have and I think I'll look into waxing for a longer result.
Thanks again to my Quilting Family, you ladies are the greatest!

sigh... I'm just glad to know I'm not alone... (picture sad, and a little hairy, smile) :-)

Like my Mom said (much to my very great surprise!) - the hair that used to grow "elsewhere" just moves to our faces when we get older!

Bearisgray, your mom was right! I've always had an abundance of peach fuzz...one fellow I dated in HS told me I needed to shave. And why was I so dumb that I didn't ditch him right then? Sheesh! Still have the fuzz...sometimes I get out the scissors and have a go at it. Seriously, there is a LOT of it, but since it's light, I don't "see" it that often.

Has anybody tried the new Olay hair removal cream? They have a new one for medium to coarse hair. I've never found any of the creams that work very well.

I like the hair removal cream that Avon makes. The facial one comes in a handy little tube with an applicator top so you can put it right where you need it. It doesn't hurt my skin, and I pluck the bigger chin whiskers that it leaves behind. Does the mustache pretty well, though. Have been plucking since puberty and still remember watching my mom do the same when I was a little kid. My gram, who lived to be 100 in a nursing home, always begged us to shave her chin because she hated the feel of the stubble and nurses didn't do it.

Surgicream has worked for my resistant hairs

I appreciate the openness of this topic, I have been battling this for years and yes, it is getting worse with age. I find it to be sooo... embarrassing...:o
I use Rx vaniqa, saw the commercial on TV, it does work quite well, my esthitician(sp?) has even recommended it to others. It is expensive, insurance does not cover, the price(Sam's Club) has come down the past year from $98 range to $78. Plus side... the tube lasts quite awhile.
I have tried over the counter products without much success, and do rely on a monthly professional waxing appointment to stay on top of the strays. I couldn't function without this product or services.
I have always been so mystified as to why I am so plagued with this major inconvenience and so many women have flawless faces. My mother has never had this for a problem, my sister has a small upper lip 'stache that she bleaches and she is good to go.
I have even invested in the laser hair removal 9 yrs ago and that works well, but is still a temporary fix, does not last forever, but it still is greatly improved.
The pain involved in waxing, is good pain, I like it! It does subdue thru the years.
I had an experience with a esthiatician(sp again) that took it upon herself to determine if I have thick, dark eyebrows, I must have thick dark hair in other locations, so she took it upon herself to sell me waxing in these other locations. i was so peeved, I announced as I was paying to leave "to never appt me with that employee again".
I found it to be so intrusive to discuss such things with a total stranger and for her to rely on her assumptions. :thumbdown:Needless to say she didn't last long there.
But you all are not my strangers:D.
Just think of all the fabric I could have purchased with dollars spent on hair removal...:(
It is a nice to know...I am not the only one that battles this ugly inconvenience, I have been the only one that I know of who has to battle this to this extreme. Or, most women like me are not going to openly discuss this??

Always get my physician to check my 'moley' back when having the annual physical....told her one day 'if a hairy mole comes rolling in your office, please don't stomp it because it'll be me" Golly, that facial hair is a menace.

I am just starting and to say the least not happy about the hairs popping up on the face. Been wondering if I took hormones if that would slow the hair growth down, but of course, then I have to worry about other problems with the hormones. Can't win for losing!
