I have naturally curly hair and my daughter has some curls too :-) Her hair is down past her butt now lol she does not always like me brushing it but...we do what we must. I have asked her if she wants me to cut it and the answer I get is no so I tell her then style it we must. I use a leave in conditioner called FastFood. For my niece we just use regular hair care products . Check I think Suave for kids has stuff out also |
My nearly 20yo dd has thick, curly hair. Over the years she must have tried everything, including all the Curly Girl products and I don't know what all. The best thing for her has been to get a deep conditioning treatment at the hair salon. She found a young woman near her age at Ulta who understands exactly what she needs. I think it is a Redken deep conditioner that gets put in her hair. The treatment changes her hair from wiry curls to soft curls, and the feel of her hair goes from rough to soft. If I am remembering correctly, cost for a trim and conditioner is about $50, but the conditioner lasts for 3 months. Dd also uses a good shampoo and conditioner as a follow-up.
You might want to bring your dd in to Ulta and just ask one of the hair stylists there what they would recommend (and how much it would cost!). |

My roommate back when had very curly hair and she used to put it up on big orange juice cans instead of hair curlers to try to straighten it! Not something I would recommend for your daughter by the way!
