Now this is a coincidence. My friend and I were talking about the very thing the other day. We both need to rig up a clothesline in the back yard. We remember the wonderful smell we got from the fresh air. Bath towels, too. Hang them out until barely damp and then toss them in the dryer to make them softer and fluffier BUT they have that WONDERFUL smell! Also, saves on your electricity!

I wish that I could do that. I live in town next to a highway and noway will that happen

I go past an Amish house and she hangs her clothes out all the time, but her line runs from the top of the barn to the house. It makes me laugh everytime I see it.

Can't convince my husband that hanging out laundry would be good therapy for me, so everything goes in the dryer.

Some of my favorite memories are spending the summers at my grandma's house in Kentucky, collecting rainwater in the the wash tubs, doing the laundry on the big wrap-around porch, and hanging it all out to dry! I am so glad I had those experiences!

CarrieAnne...I have to ask you a question...Do you have a certain way to hang up the clothes,) ie all large towels together, then hand towels, then washcloths) or do you just hang them up as they come out of the basket?

I may have to make an effort to put my clothesline back up this year. HHHmmmmm.....
