if you REALLY want to feel like you've never made a real quilt in your whole life, go to the Houston Quilt Festival.

acres of quilts the size of football fields made with teeeeeeeeny tiny, intricate and breathtaking applique and/or piecing that are quilted to perfection.

i couldn't look at one of my own for weeks after without wanting to strike a match.

i'm over it now. my stash runneth over and so does my list of WIPS, UFOs, PIGs and plans.

the only things i don't have enough or too much of? time, energy and money.

You impressed me by making lunch. I don't cook breakfast or lunch. Two chores I stopped doing as soon as the kids were old enough to press the toaster button down, spread mayo and pour milk. :D

It happens all the time to me sawsan. But eventually I manage to find some time. Of course I don't have to cook for anyone else, so it is a little easier!! Just hang in there. There is an old popular song here called "Anticipation". Very appropriate at times!! :P

I am in Arab country leaving early from schools some jobs. Eating 3 meals :D cooking only lunch. For breakfast and dinner will be soft food as home sandwiches ,veg, fruits . so lunch is the main course .

Sawsan, the chorus lyrics are:

Anticipation. Anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting.

I have a new favorite: The ONE BLOCK SWAP. Even I can finish one block a month, and when I do - I feel accomplished. I take my block to work and show it off as if it were a masterpiece. lol If I didn't, I'd be playing the same game as you do. WIPs, UFOs, PIGS, and a big brain full of ideas - fueled by a room full of fabric. Aaah. the life of a quilter......

really I always seem to be cleaning, cooking or whatever. By the time I am ready to sew it is time for bed. Where does the time go

I hate housework and all the other things that need to be done all the time. :(

Hi for you all you must enjoy every step you make at home esp. lunch in order to keep energy for QUILTING HAHAHAHA

I gave a quilt top for Christmas last year and it STILL isn't quilted (need to give it finished this year) since there are so many other, more interesting things to do.... look through quilt books, work on my current project, look at my UFO's and plan what to do to them next.....

wow now i do not feel so alone............ i work 60 miles from where i live... mom of three 20, 20 and 13, two in college, one in middle school, 4 dogs two cats. youngest is a sports fanatic so i find myself sitting in bleaches or on the side line ALOT!............ so i learned to cheat a little.. my 13 irons blocks for me... and I clip rag quilts while i am on the sidelines of his football games.. Just have to watch so I do not get tackled on the sidelines.. I have a stash that has taken over one whole rooom and plans that will keep me busy till I am 105 but it is all good... wishing days had 36 hours but i am happy
