Well, here I sit on the board AGAIN, with the sweet potatoes cooking for my pies, Everyone here likes them better than pumpkin. DH is still having trouble eating and has aked for fried sweet potatoes. I had to call his Dad to see how his Mom used to do them, and Bless his heart he was so helpful Said to parboil them fork tender, slice into the size pieces you want, then fry them and just before done, add a little butter and brown sugar. I think I will use real maple syrup instead of brown sugar, but if he can get them down, I will try anything.. Anyone with suggestions for food that a chemo and radiation patient can swallow, please pm with ideas or recipes.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Be sure to count your blessings, and if you think you have none, just look around you at those in worse condition. You are blessed,

Happy Thanksgiving to you :D:D:D

When dad had cancer, he couldn't keep anything down that had any preservatives in it... We bought all organic and he did much better!! I hope this might help your DH too :D:D:D

My friend used to make chicken noodle soup and put it into a blender I can get a recipe for a nutrional soup if you want. She said it had all the nutrients she needed with the ability to swallow (due to thrush)

Happy Thanksgiving, and prayers that your DH is able to enjoy his meal.

cream of wheat is very easy to swallow. Also angel hair pasta. Make a light sauce with a little butter, chicken broth, and some slices of garlic (slicing the garlic keeps it Mild), if he likes garlic. you can add some sliced zucchini, or chopped parsley, if his stomach is up to that (check with his dr first - my husband couldn't have anything fresh, including pepper (with the exception of bananas) - only thoroughly cooked or canned veggies & fruits.) Toss pasta with parmesan.
