Fireworks??? Why didnt they die on the 4th of July???? Either they dont want to say they dont know,or they DO know and dont want us to know. I saw the footage(Im in Missouri)and all the officials had masks and protective clothing on.Then the fish happened. This is scary, people!

In the paper (St. Paul, Mn) and on TV it was told that it was the fireworks and trauma. Apparently something to do with the radar system or something in the bird's brain. Poor things. Edie

Tammy, This is how I get thru my days. Thanks for the reminder- Trust God to take of things!!!! I'm still a mental case -lol- but this is the answer for me!

Willa 01-05-2011 07:15 AM

Just saw today somewhere in Sweden around 50 birds died also. They were going to do tests to see if they could determine why.

plainjane 01-05-2011 09:26 AM

Why bother to test if the authorities can tell you it was just fireworks! Sarcasm is just ugly sometimes :)

Midwestmary 01-05-2011 09:34 AM

I just read this morning an article in the on-line addition of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. The following quote I thought was interesting - apparently in Minnesota, large masses of birds do die from disease - although in this case it is still a mystery as to why they died.

"The birds that died -- red-winged blackbirds, common grackles, brown-headed cowbirds and European starlings -- are abundant species that flock together. Roosts can contain tens of thousands to more than 20 million birds, Audubon said. And that makes them more vulnerable to disease and to an incident that might spook them, said Carrol Henderson, the nongame wildlife program supervisor for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

The U.S. Geological Service lists about 90 mass wildlife deaths from June through Dec. 12. Five list deaths of at least 1,000 birds and another 12 show at least 500 dead birds. The largest was near Houston, Minn., where about 4,000 water birds died between Sept. 6 and Nov. 26 from various parasites. Henderson said Minnesota typically sees one or two large bird kills a year, mostly from botulism, toxic algae, West Nile or some other avian disease."

Cyn 01-05-2011 09:50 AM

I just shared this post with my retired Marine hubby and his response was, you don't want to know everything that goes on!!! (He's probably right but I didn't admit it to him:))

TootieAnn 01-05-2011 09:54 AM

I saw it on the Internet and heard about it on the news last night. I understand that nobody really knows what caused it. Kind of freaky, I think. I feel sorry for the people who live in the areas affected.

I'm also in AR and agree that fireworks sounds pretty far-fetched. The theory is that fireworks startled the birds, and in turn they crashed into homes, cars, etc and died. Not too sure how that accounts for dead birds in the street with nothing overhead.

lynnie 01-05-2011 11:07 AM

fireworks????? what a scam. more like the chem trails they spraed in the air. does the government think we're that stupid that fireworks would kill THAT many birds. check out CHEMTRAILS on you tube and the internet and get the real scoop on this one.

lynnie 01-05-2011 11:09 AM

let them say what they will, but all at once. they flew into a chem trail, and as of the fish, the chemicals hit the water and they died from that too. wake up world, this is going on all over, and no one questions it, but then, we can't control what they are doing to our water and air, can we???

Up North 01-05-2011 12:11 PM

Well they sure are not going to tell us! It happens in other countries too when they are testing!

sewbizgirl 01-05-2011 02:24 PM

I heard it was something to do with the storms that have been coming through. Not sure how, tho...

Alondra 01-05-2011 04:17 PM

Sure they do. Check out one or both of these reports:

or

Pretty scary stuff.

Seriously, folks, here's the real scoop:

We may not like the truth, but if I'm going down, I want to know the WHYs and WHOs, whatever they may be or however scary, and I'm going down kicking and screaming.

No it says they don't know what caused it. That is so weird though.

Malarky! Have you checked out who owns Fox News????

galvestonangel 01-05-2011 05:01 PM

The paper said that it supposedly happened because the fireworks confused the birds and they were runing into things and them selves.

In Louisana, the theory is they ran into live electrical wires.

None of that makes much sense to me.

That is what I heard too, but doesn't it seem odd. If it's true, why doesn't it happen every year?

Sorrelpen 01-05-2011 06:17 PM

heard it on the news(and saw)over the weekend. I thought it was strange as well.

cctx. 01-05-2011 06:28 PM

Read it too.

Sandee 01-05-2011 08:06 PM

happened in another state ,also & now today, I think, overseas.

Berta48 01-05-2011 08:34 PM

You all may think I'm a looney tune.BUT I honestly believe this is just signs of the times just like the food prices going up up up and gas and all the other things happening in the world today.

This is happening other places, too. My husband thinks the area being hit might have a methane release in the air causing a breathing obstruction for the birds. Methane is released from the ground in a lot of areas just due to the drilling or digging into the earth. Just a thought.

rob529 01-05-2011 09:29 PM

They had another group today in TX. They said they were killed by running into cars. How stupid do they think we are?

Alondra 01-05-2011 09:33 PM

Pretty stupid. Look at all we've "bought" so far that they've been dishing out for years. We need to get our heads out of the sand.

I'm to the point of not watching the news or reading the paper--it's depressing!!!! Seems like all you ever hear anymore is the awful stuff or bad stuff.

Berta48 01-05-2011 09:39 PM

Keep watching things are going to get worse. Not to be a nay sayer but it's true.

Sounds like a cover up to me. Fireworks would not account for the fish, nor the second batch of birds. The whole thing sounds strange....... X Files???

You are right....walking in faith and believing God will take care of the rest. His Word says to think on good things (Eph 5).

And on tonights news, a bunch of birds dropped from the sky in Wisconsin. Somethings odd about it and they all seem to be Red winged Blackbirds.

gcathie 01-06-2011 12:46 AM

When I was a young girl this happened after a tornado went threw....we had dead birds everywhere...It must have been in 1967 or so ....just might be that simple...that they were migrating and got cought in all the tornados they had in that area.....just a thought...

auntiehenno 01-06-2011 01:32 AM

South Hampton, Brazil also. I think what ever caused this will never be truthfully reported to us. Believeour government was responsible for some sort of testing! Remember Roswell incident, we were NEVER told the real story. Our government must think we are all brain dead!!!

The older I become the more cynical and pessimistic I am of our government.

Genie915 01-06-2011 10:36 AM

We were in Beebe, Arkansas when this happened and smack in the middle of it. We had watched part of the 10 o'clock news and gone to bed. Approximately 15 minutes later, we were puzzled by hearing 3 or 4 blasts (more like gunshots than fireworks). We arose and opened the front door but saw nothing. We were awakened again at midnight by fireworks being set off throughout the small city. The weather did turn cold quickly; however, not much different than Texas. Little Rock Air Force Base at Jacksonville is only a few miles away and it is not uncommon for planes to fly overhead there or over any of the neighboring cities and towns during training maneuvers.

Here's the site Alondra posted....take a look! http://www.thetotalcollapse.com/ Pretty scary!
