Has anyone made a wrap around pillow cover?

I found a link with the steps to make various sizes of wrap around pillow covers. I had seen this method used for teaching Children learning to sew their own pillow. One long strip of fabric is used as you will see in the link below:

I wondered if I could quilt the fabric and then proceed with the wrap or if it may be too bulky. Please advise if you have made a pillow cover like this. Thank you!

I’ve made them that way with the kids for years. It’s nice to have the link with the measurements. Usually I have to figure it out for each size. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, to answer your question yes you can quilt your fabric, applique it, embellish it anyway you choose before making the pillow cover. I cut fabrics a little larger than needed, do my quilting/ embellishments then cut to size (adding a 1/2” to accommodate the thicker fabric/ seam allowance)

I have made a wrap pillowcase but I ended up adding a strip of Velcro as I didn't like how it gaped open. Maybe my wrap around wasn't large enough? I will try the size in tutorial.

Awesome idea I have been planning to cover my sofa pillows and this will make it easy to remove and wash them. I had forgotten my mom used to make them this way. Thanks for posting.

I made one recently with that type of backing but used a quilt block for the front and two pieces of backing. no zippers!

Good to know the extra tip to add extra fabric for the thicker seam ! Thanks!
