Have to ask this question again.....

My husband uses bandanas as handkerchiefs. He likes the old school ones that actually feel like a soft cotton cloth. The ones nowadays are cheap, thin and almost see through..lol. I have looked all over, bought one here and there just to see if they were of any substantial quality no luck so far. We haven't found anything at the fabric shops around here I can use to make him some.
If anyone has any ideas on where to find bandanas that were made like they were 25 years ago. I would appreciate any leads. He prefers navy blue or black ones.

Can I suggest a western wear store? Maybe a feed supply store, Tractor Supply?

I think Tallchick may be on to something. I am likewise generally disappointed when I find bandanas any more. They are small and often pure poly or blends.

Doing a google search and looking at reviews, I think maybe the ones at Michael's craft stores might be worth looking at. Of course, Amazon has everything but some of those multi-packs get pricey to find out you don't like it.

Edit: Tractor Supply does have what it says are 100% cotton bandanas -- both for humans and dogs! I'm forgetting where you are located at but there are a number of stores on the west coast in small towns and big.

Good ideas both of you! Thank you, we are going into town this week for an appointment. We have Coastal farm store and Wilco.

My husband use to buy the good cotton ones from a welding supply store. Welders use them for neck protection.

Long shot here .... actually two :)

What about a big rig truckers' specialty shop? The type that are in service centres on major highways, etc.

Likewise ... motorcycle specialty places?

How about secondhand clothing stores, Goodwill or other resale shops. Like the ideas above about the shops that specialize in working folk clothing. Let's support them.
