You're BOTH waaaaaaaaaaay braver (?) than me! Sometimes it freaks me out that I'm 5' off the ground (I'm 5' tall)!!! My DD has gone sky diving & DH would go in a heartbeat but me? Uh, no... mixing plaids & stripes is about as daring as I get!!!

I wouldn't just black out -- I'd straight up have a heart attack! And then, so much for pulling your ripcord!

I know the view was wonderful but, not me girl. I would have been screaming all the way down.

Man, that brings back memories!! I used to jump back when we used round parachutes that provided some pretty hard landings. Tandem jumping was just making an appearance when I moved on to other adventures but it's a great way for people to experience the full thrill of skydiving without much training. You had a great pilot and the whole video was a lot of fun to watch, although I laughed 'til my sides ached at the sound of that music that doesn't seem to have changed ever. Thanks for sharing.

BTW - my experience is that jump planes don't tend to be "perfectly good" airplanes and the jumper is quite happy to leave the pilot to land on his own.

I'm going to do that sometime in the next few weeks. My question is: why don't they ever show the landing? My DSIL went to celebrate his 40th birthday and said "never again" as well! He said the landing scared the daylights out of him...so what about it? Can it be THAT scary?

Kimkankwilt 07-05-2012 08:25 AM

The landing was not scary at all....it just didn't come fast enough.

And the plane was the scariest part for my husband. It looked like it was held together with duck tape and it was havin' a hard time staying level when these (2) pro divers were hanging their *** out the door.

I would have peed.

OHSue 07-07-2012 08:46 AM

I would never jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

with a couple of people not being harnessed in correctly lately, i think i'll skip it. but i'm sure it was an experience!!

Shoot, when I'm ready to die THEN I might go skydiving; 'coz if I go beforehand, I'll sure die of fright as I'm afraid of heights!
