He is home!!!

Our beloved cat "Chance" has been missing for over three weeks, last night his wonderful face appeared at my kitchen window..my heart was singing..and our three Granddaughter said that God was really listening. Just had to share this with my Board friends

yellowwroses 01-18-2013 05:23 AM

wonderful news

Dragonomine 01-18-2013 05:27 AM

That's wonderful! I'll bet he had quite an adventure!

lillybeck 01-18-2013 05:47 AM

We had a cat go missing years back and he was gone for 7 months. My son was on his way home from work one night and there walking down the road was our Smokey

Chasing Hawk 01-18-2013 05:57 AM

I wonder if he was making the rounds. One day you may see some little "Chances" romping about.
Or he made himself at home with some kindly gray haired lady who fed him from a china saucer.

Stitchnripper 01-18-2013 06:03 AM

How wonderful! I wish he could tell you where he was and what he was up to!!

Delta 01-18-2013 06:04 AM

ptquilts 01-18-2013 06:23 AM

Good news!! We had a cat go missing after we moved. We found him walking about 4 miles down the road, headed back to the old place.

Abby'smom 01-18-2013 07:54 AM

wonderful -- maybe the kitty got trapped in a garage, not unusual at this time of the year -- so glad that your furbaby is home

nativetexan 01-18-2013 07:55 AM

Oh my goodness. I'm so glad he's home now. years ago our cat went missing for one week. she was an outside cat and liked going into people's garages. she finally showed up with her hair falling out and very hungry. I think someone went on vacation or just locked her in without knowing it and didn't open the door again until a week later. poor kitty.

Jingle 01-18-2013 08:55 AM

My cats are inside only cats, sometimes I wish they would get lost, haha. Spaying and neutering would help alot.

hannajo 01-18-2013 09:00 AM

If cats could talk...

MimiBug123 01-18-2013 10:04 AM

I'll just bet he's got some stories to tell! I just saw on the news that a cat walked 190 miles to get home. He was in the owner's RV at Daytona and was frightened by the fireworks. Apparently he bolted out of the RV. They looked for him for 4 days, but couldn't find him. They had to go home without him. This was in Nov. and last week a neighbor found him, very emaciated, and took him to the vet. They were able to check his microchip and found his owners. Isn't it amazing how cats have such a sense of direction? I'm so glad your Chance came back home.

memepat 01-18-2013 10:37 AM

So happy for you. Hate hearing about missing pets but so glad you had a happy ending.

cherrio 01-19-2013 05:56 AM

oh ain't it da truth! Our neighbor (Lil Grey haired lady) feeds several strays and on china saucers too! I laughed and told her "those aren't strays! This grey one is mine and that fat black and white belongs to George who owns the auto repair shop! haha" they both have been chowing down all around the neighborhood.

Around here if a cat goes missing it usually means the coyotes got him.

Maybe we don't want to know what he was up to. LOL Give him an extra treat from all of us.

mommafank 01-19-2013 08:18 AM

Know you are thrilled. I had my cat go missing for over 3 weeks once in Orlando. I threw his bowl and everything away. Then he showed up fat and sassy as ever. I felt someone had taken him into their home thinking he was available. So we put a collar and with owner ID info on him. My theory is that he peed in their home like he had in ours and was thrown outside. That was the reason we put him out doors to begin with. He was part time in and part time out but when he got in a fight that ended up costing us 1000.00 to save him, he once again became an indoor cat and remains a fat and sassy indoor cat today.

SueDor 01-19-2013 08:31 AM

That's wonderful!

How wonderful. They are just like our children. And it is heartbreaking when something bad happens. So glad yours is a good happening

carolynjo 01-19-2013 11:36 AM

How wonderful for you. My daughter's cat got into a workman's truck and was carried off. Nearly 2 months later, he appeared, emaciated and with bloody paws from walking home. Have no idea where he had been nor what he had been through, but he was so happy to be home again, not to mention the kids and my daughter.

Rina 01-19-2013 11:37 AM

I am so glad for you.

Tothill 01-19-2013 12:59 PM

Glad he is back home.

My mil is romancing a cat with treats on a china dish right now. He is a lovely Tuxedo cat who lives a couple houses along. He knows a good thing. When his family is out for the day he has a warm welcome with my mil. She knows where be lives, but is happy to have the company during the day. He goes home when he hears he people's car arrive. They know where he spends his days.

In 1993 we had a starving male (intact) grey tabby show up at our house. We called the SPCA, Pound etc, but nobody had reported him missing. We had him wormed and he started to gain weight. When he was at a healthy weight we had him neutered. We called him Tom (he was a tom cat when he arrived) and referred to him as our stray cat the 14 years he lived with us. The vet figured he was 18 months to 3 years old when he moved in, so he had a good long life with us.

I tell the Tom's story so people will know that sometimes the missing cat winds up living the good life, just with another family. We tried to find his owners, but they never reported him missing, at least locally.

sewingsuz 01-19-2013 02:04 PM
