Heat n Bond type products and microwave use...
I am making a project that would be routinely used in the microwave...so does anyone know whether that product can be microwaved ? I can't seem to find a website for this company.

if it is not 100% cotton, it should not be used, for safety reasons. even the cottons should not be microwaved for long cooking times as even the cotton will catch fire.
|
I would contact the company. I am not sure what ingredients are used in making the product. Be sure to tell whoever you give the gifts to that anything with cloth should not be microwaved over 3 minutes.

True, I learned this the hard way. My potato pouch caught fire. |

I think this is the company for Heat'n Bond, not sure if you can find further info there. http://www.thermowebonline.com/ |
I found batting at JoAnn's called "Wrap-N-Zap" that can be used in the microwave.

I would not use any fabric in the microwave - combustion problems. However, I think that any bonding agent is suspect. Food handling is fiddly, and we don't know what chemicals are used, nor what kind of fumes could be produced. I will stay with paper and glass.
