well im a fan of why use chemicals if you dont have to...

id go with the boiling water...

altho when i was bout 13 i did kill one of my mothers ss pans...boy was she mad!!
my daddy had to take a brillo pad to it even after the boiling water trick...
i really really burned that popcorn good!!! lol

Thanks everyone! I'll have a go at it tonight after work. (It's just sitting with water in it right now...)
I cannot believe I burnt it so bad!! I wanted to try to make the caramel using sweetened condensed milk. On the Eagle Brand website they had 2 methods - in the oven & stovetop. I was going to do the oven one, but didn't have a second dish big enough to set a pie pan in, so figured 'OK, I'll do the stovetop one'. Sigh. I didn't pay attention to the part of the directions that said "In a double-boiler".... :oops:
Live & learn....and ask your quilting friends for rescue help!!!
