This is a little different than just fabric bleeding. My daughter just bought a new pocketbook yesterday. It is raining today and she just sent me a text that her burgundy pea coat dye bled on to her new yellow pocketbook. Anyone have ANY suggestions about how to clean her pocketbook? I was wondering about baking soda, but told her she would have to test it in an inconspicuous place. I still have the receipt for the nice pocketbook purchased at a major dept store, and wonder if they might take it back. Thanks for any help!

What is the pocketbook made of -- leather? vinyl? fabric?

Carbona makes a dye run remover - Hancock's carries it. It comes in a small box, and may save the purse.

I would take the coat back...that is crazy that it would bleed like that!!! I hope that her purse can be saved.

I'm with Amma on this, take that coat back. Would be a shame if she were wearing a nice white blouse under that coat and it bled on that too. Have you tried taking the purse to a dry-cleaners and see if they can recommend a solution?
