Help with ETSY billing

I'm new to etsy. they just wanted to take out a payment of 20 cents. they said my account is empty. there is $100. in the account. how do i pay them? i'm lost. They have no phone number, only a help line, that doesn't help me much. thanks in advance.

Have you double checked your the account info you sent them? I know I sometimes make small errors that frustrate me when I think I have filled in all the correct info only to find out, yup operator error!

A very good reason I don't buy on line. I would not buy from a third party like that. If I can't buy from a legit site I do without.

Etsy is completely legit. I’ve made purchases quite a few times and have been very happy with everything, right now I’m waiting on a wooden toy for our almost 18-month old granddaughter - it’s for Christmas. And I also just purchased some English Paper Pieces and patterns - excellent service.

Lynnie, are they verifying your account or are you making a purchase? I think tallchick is right and there's probably a typo or a missed checkbox somewhere. I've been shopping on etsy for a decade and it is really easy once you get it all set up. I'm so sorry about the frustration! I hope they get back to you and help.

Etsy is absolutely legit, I've shopped on there for years and years! My favorite fabric shop is on there, It's a great way to shop mom and pop all over the world! Once you get set up there should be no issues, I'm so sorry it's been a pain for you.

Austinite, tell me more about this favorite shop...

SusieQOH 10-06-2020 09:31 AM

I'm not Austinite but I have a favorite Etsy shop for fabric- HunnieQuilt.
She is fantastic! I can't say enough about her. In fact I only shop with her unless
I can't find something I'm looking for. She's the best!

Etsy is totally legit. I've shopped there for a long time. It's my favorite place to shop.

i had help setting up the account. she said it was very difficult to do, and that she'd just do it for me.
I have a checking acct just for etsy with $100.00 in it for them to take payment out or add payments in.
i also have a master card just for etsy. the lady said i needed it to open an acct. so, now they want to take out thier
payment, and they can't so the closed my acct.
so, 1, how do i get my acct. open again.
2. how do i get them their payments.
I spent so much money on this, and now it's all going to nothing.
i'm very frustrated,
can anyone help with this? Please.
i need to get it up and running before the holidays.
so...how do i get them their payment.. I'm trying to call them, but their is no number.
do any of you have a phone number for them?

thanks everyone

Lynnie, I don't understand this at all. I shop Etsy all the time and just pay with my credit card.

Susie,

I think she had someone set up her Etsy Store for her, and as a result Etsy is having issues verifying the account that is used for her deposits. It’s a tedious process to set up a Etsy shop but by no means difficult. I’m going to stick with my theory that the person who set up her shop made an error somewhere with her banking info.

SusieQOH 10-08-2020 05:05 AM

Ah! I didn't realize that. Thanks Lisa! :)

Lynnie,

Log on to your Etsy Account:

1: in the upper right you should see a icon that says Shop Manager, double click that icon.
2: You should now see a left side bar that says Shop Manager, select Finances.
3: Now select Payment Account, you can now update your billing account and deposit account.

If you paid someone to set this up for you they should have also walked you through how to do the management of your shop as well, and this includes updating items, payments refunds etc. .

Hope this helps, good luck!

Tallchick, I think you're right. Except....Lynnie said that they closed her account. Do you think she can still try to use the same one? Or will she have to start over from scratch with a new account?
I know we're all just speculating, but I am very curious...

tallchick 10-08-2020 11:26 AM

She should still be able to use the same account. When I initially wanted to set mine up I waited a long time before I finished it. She should be able to log in and just update her payment info. If she paid someone to set it up I hope she gets her money back!

My son finally figured it out. a click and my account was opened again. the person who set it up told me she would tell me as i needed the information, and not before. tomorrow, I think i'll ty to update my shop. I'm open for all opinions. the shops name is :
lynniesloveliesshop.
i'm hoping someone here knows about this stuff better than i do. You are all so helpful, and i can't thank you enough.

i've purchased some etsy stuff in the past, and everyone was wonderful to deal with. i received my order a head of time, and everything was packaged so well. Have a happy Halloween.
