Pillowcase for King size pillow -
You will need 3 coordinating fabrics,

36" x WOF for main color, 11" x WOF cuff, 2.5" x WOF for insert

OR for a Queen: 3/4 yd main, 9" cuff and 2" insert

1. Remove selvages from each fabric.
2. Fold the insert strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Press.
3. Lay out the main fabric with right side up. Layer the folded insert fabric along the 44" edge. Layer the the cuff fabric on top, wrong side up. If necessary, trim off fabrics the same width.
4. Stitch all layers together with a 1/4" seam. Press cuff out with seams toward cuff.
5. Press the remaining raw edge of the cuff under 1/2", toward the wrong side of the main fabric. Fold cuff to the inside, covering the raw edges of seam. Pin.
6. On right side of cuff, topstitch 1/8" from cuff edge toward the insert, stitching through all layers.
7. Serge seams if you have a serger. If you do not have a serger, fold pillowcase with wrong sides together. Stitch 1/8" seam down long side and short side. Turn pillowcase wrong side out and sttich again with a 1/4" seam allowance.
This will give you a French seam with no raw edges.
8. Turn right side out and insert pillow.
