Another King topic but now I need the help. We replaced our mattress with one that is monster size- I need about 18 inch pockets at least for the bottom sheet.
Problem- I bought a gorgeous set of sheets right before :(
Now I can't get the bottom sheet to cover.
Any ideas?? The only thing I can think of is seams and that's not very appealing for comfort.
Thanks for any ideas :D

Try removing the elastic from the bottom sheet, then sew on an extra 6' or so of muslin all the way around, add elastic, and they should fit fine, maybe even better, more sheet will be under the bed, so it won't pull out so easily.

I'm guessing you've already used these, so you can't return them?

The only idea I came up sounds like an effort, but it might work.

Cut the edges off about six inches above the edge.

Insert however much fabric you need - sew it all back together again.

I just new sheets- opposite problem. Too big, they move all over. I just washed them, hoping they will shrink. If not, off to the sewing room.

I have a hard time finding ones that don't "pill" over time. Or wrinkle-free that are terribly wrinkled.

What brand did you buy?

Bearisgray- that's a super idea!!! Thanks a lot! And yes, I already used them- didn't know we were getting the new monster mattress :D
I love Wamsutta cotton sheets- get them on sale at Macy's whenever I can. I think that's my fav brand. Haven't bought sheets in awhile.

I answered what my fav are but I don't buy online b/c I have to feel them. I don't like blends, only cotton. But there are a million cottons nowadays!! Love Wamsutta, as mentioned before. I'm really picky about sheets.

Thanks Pam! But I don't like working with elastic- I'm elastic challenged :D Maybe I'll try though. My neighbor is an expert seamstress and always willing to help.

Depending on fabric and placement, it could look like it is a "designer border insert" instead of "making do"

YEAH!! They are my prettiest sheets (of course, couldn't be the plain old ones :D:D:D

I've used "sheet suspenders" in the past. They are a large elastic X, wuth clips on all 4 ends, that you clip your sheet onto. Bed, Bath, and Beyond used to carry them.
