HELP please, Can't get the marks out :(

My sister and I needed a change from quilting. We decided to make a blouse. We used some really old tracing paper to mark the darts. The good stuff from the 70's - you can see it! We used the yellow. Now we can't get it to wash out! :( Any suggestions? Does anyone know how to get the good ol' stuff out of white cotton?

Thank you!

I was in Hancock's this week and they were selling Grandmas spot remover on sail. I heard several women talking about how it would take any stain out of anything. I have never used it , I reach for qxy clean spray and it has always worked for me.

maybe some goo gone? if I remember, that stuff was a bit waxy.

My favorite stain remover is a bar of Ivory soap. Wet the stain then rub some Ivory into the stain and scrub a bit. Leave the soap on the stain until you wash it. It doesn't hurt to be left in for a while and may even work more of the stain out. Most of the time the stain will come out with the first washing. Occassionally, it takes another treatment. This has worked for me for many years. I like it especially for any grease/oil stains on cotton that don't seem to respond to any other spot treatment.

Be sure you use a bar of Ivory soap not dish detergent.

I would mark some scraps with the same tracing paper. I would then try different things on the scraps. Some of them woud be hairspray, turpentine, oxyclean, goo gone, tide spot pen.... basically everything but the kitchen sink. If I found something that worked and didn't wreak the fabric, that's what I would use on my garment.

Dawn Dish Detergent works well

Try Oxiclean in the laundry dept, it works good on about anything

Oxi Clean does wonders if nothing else works.
