The dr says this is gout that is making my finger deform be red, swollen and hurts like heck. Told me to stay away from red meat and take an NSAID. Well, I already take a major one of those everyday now for years. I only eat red meat about 2 maybe 3 times a week. I know that sounds like a lot but I know people who eat much more.

Anyway, I haven't sewn since Christmas and just went down to sew and found I can't because of this stupid finger. It is my right index finger and I can't pinch threads, pins, etc.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions that I could try? I've read all about the diet and I'm pretty good on that anyway. It also says it just lasts a short time. Well mine has been 3 months!! I WANT TO QUILT!!! HELP!!

Have you tried cherry juice and/or cranberry juice? These are supposed to help get rid of and prevent gout.

I know this may sound absolutely daft but I won't do anything without wearing my Magnetic bracelets. I get really sore lumps on my knuckles but when they come up the pain recedes very quickly, the lumps a bit longer.

Before the bracelets I just was in agony 24/7, go to EBay don't cost a lot, and they can't do any harm so why not give them a go.

BTW they are great for relieving Arthritis and Rheumatism

My brother and my late DH both used Black Cherry Juice which really helped.

Did you see the ad at the top of the page? DH takes the medication called Uloric and feels a lot better since he started on it. The company that makes it are great and very easy to work with if you don't have enough money to buy it. We get it for free from them.

Cherries are suppose to be good for qout.
My BIL as gout in his foot. Medication directions he takes
says take until 'diarrahea' starts. Then stop taking. So
why not take castor oil or Milk of Magnesia. Check with your doctor first.

My Dad had severe gout till he started eating canned cherries every day--think it was 12 per day...no more gout!
