Help!
I have a Select Comfort king mattress and need sheets to fit the older mattresses that specified fitting 9-12" in depth. Does anyone have any idea where they can still be purchased? A new mattress isn't an option. Thanks for any help you can give me.

overstock.com says they sell deep pocket fitted sheets.
|
The least deep sheets I could find online so far fit up to 18". Would those still be too deep?
|
You sew buy 2 smaller ones cut down centre and join to fit. Hope this helps.
|
oops, I guess I misunderstood. I thought you wanted deep pockets. I've never measured or had any problems buying fitted sheets.
|
the last one I get come from "BIG LOTS" if they are any around you.
|
Have you checked out places like Big Lots, Tuesday Morning or similar stores that have previous seasons or discontinued merchandise?
|
I found these 15" pocket ones on Overstock:

Bigger/deeper pockets shouldn't be a problem; they'd just give you more tuck under I would think.
It's having too shallow a pocket that is the pits! Have you tried deep pocket sheets? Jan in VA |
I don't understand if you need bigger surface sheets or deep corner sheets. The California King size is the biggest surface area sheets.
|
I am confused too, but if the sheets are made for a mattress that is thicker than you want, you can take a seam up each corner and make the fit "tighter." I have done that with all of my sheets. Just in case this helps...

Try Vermont Country catalog. I believe I saw sheets available in two depths. Good luck

No, all the extra fabric for the deep mattresses doesn't stay tucked and the sheets gets all baggy when you sleep.

Bella I need SHALLOWER depth, sheets to fit 9-12" mattresses, no one seems to carry them anymore. Use poor souls who have older mattresses can't find sheets to fit.
Dina, I tried that but it didn't work, you'd need to completely take out a portion all around and then put the elastic back in. I'll try Big Lots and Tuesday Morning, never thought of them. Vermont only had the deeper pockets Thanks, everybody. |
Did sheets fit originally and now they don't? We have a Select Comfort and it seems to me that the foam in the surround is getting soft. I was planning on calling the company, they have a twenty year warranty.
|
Try calling the mattress manufacturer and see if they can refer you somewhere.
|
Try Linen Source. I get their catalog...what about Kmart and Walmart and JCPenney? Penny's used to be the "go to" place for sheets. Good luck on this. Sounds aggravating! What about a Google search with the requirement size listed? You've probably tried all these. Just trying to help.

Seems to me Walmart should have them. We have an incredibly thick mattress and have the opposite problem. While looking in Walmart for the extra deep we need I think I've seen the shallower pocket sheets there. Hate spending the $$ that the really, really deep pockets we need cost.

QVC has Wonderful sheets. The brand name is "Northern Nights".
|
A lot of people get ridi of perfectly good sheets when they change their decor. Check your thrift stores and I bet you will find them.

I just bought some at Target. They have deep pockets and an extra wide elastic. Great sheets and I think the King were about $60., I bought 2 sets they are so nice, they come in a cloth mini pillow case

the quick solution to sheets that are a bit too large is to add elastic to the edges. Most only have elastic in the corners. the second solution is to buy only flat sheets and make your own fitted sheets adding elastic all around. I have been making my own fitted sheets for over 46 years as I started with my first child, when we were broke and had to make do!!! Number 3, You can also add pockets to the corners. Number 4, There is also corner holders that look like wide elastic with a clip of some sort on each end(need sets 0f 4), then attach one a set to each side about 10 inches from the corners. Best of luck with your search.

Linen-N-Things may have some, they have an online store too. Also catalogs such as Lillian Vernon and Miles Kimball sometimes have a set of elastic to keep fitted sheets snug. They are a few inches long and each end has a clip-one clip on one side of the corner and then diagonally across the mattress corner to the other side of the same corner

put some elastic around the corners, stretching the elastic as you sew it on. :)
