it's quite alright 2k, somebody here will benefit from your hemming instructions, and with Miss Treated's pic, they'll have a choice,...a 2fer!

It's been bugging me that I couldn't find the thread about hemming jeans, so I did a google search, used the title of the thread "on hemming jeans" and "quiltingboard.com" in my search. I found it on google, just the beginning, but when I clicked on the link, the thread was not to be found. So what the heck? Why was the thread deleted???? I thought when something useful was posted, it was left for others to find to use. I'm at a loss on this one.... :?:

here it is... 4th one down.

Thank for the reminder. I always have to hem my pants. I am going to try this on my next pair.

And then there are those of us who think hemming pants is staples and masking tape.

(sorry- couldn't resist- been there, done that)

I have read and reread the instructions. I am not understanding the first part: Do not include the distance from the hem to the end of the jean in your calculations. Cans some explain that please?

Will definitely try to be more careful next time.

Oh No don't apologize, after me there was a post that wanted to know how. Besides now I have it bookmarked. Thanks again.

When you are making your cuff do not include the original hem If you want 2 inches off, when you cuff it will be one inch from original hem and the fold. One inch on each side is 2 inches. When you cut extra off it will be a 2 inch wide piece. I hope I explained it clearly.
It only took me about 5 mins. a leg to measure pin sew and cut. I am posting some pictures hope they are in order.

I scooted the cut piece in so maybe you can tell what I did. I like it for things like this. I would have to practise for a dress pair before I did them.

Thanks! I think I got it all straight.

Like the rest of you, I am having trouble finding old posts. Thanks 2K for posting the instructions and MissTreated for posting the picture again. I copied both and pasted into an email to myself and then saved it to my emails pertaining to Quilting. Unless I also lose my emails, I should have it when needed. I do this with a lot of things I want to keep handy.

Thanks Bill'sBonBon. I saved that picture, too.
