Houston Show - Activity for Hubby?

I'm looking for two days worth of activities for my husband while I'm at the Houston quilt show. He likes history and sports. Do you have any ideas? TIA

I have only been to Quilt Market in Houston twice and there really isn't anything for the non quilter.

Check out the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Hermann Park. It has great permanent exhibits and often has really great visiting exhibits too, plus an IMAX and lots of other stuff. He could easily spend a full day there.

Will he have a rental car so he can go places while you are at the show? If so, there seem to be a lot of museums and a history district in Houston. I have not been there, so don't know where things are located in relationship to each other. Here are some website that include museums and sports:

The hotel can give him directions to many places of interest. Also the hotel can arrange for car or taxi service for him too. I'd kiss him goodbye after breakfast and let him figure it out. :)

Are you staying downtown? Or renting a car and driving back and forth? There's usually a room at the show for the husband's to watch sports on TV but that's about all and that's only during the show not market or classes before the festival. There are a lot of excellent museums in the area. It mostly depends on how far you want to go.

I like your style, Onebyone

We recently moved to Houston and cannot believe all the things to do here. I bet he can keep busy while you are at the show. Have fun and he will too.

I do know from having lived in that area, that there is a reproduction, in life size, of the "Terra Cotta Army" from China somewhere nearby. I can't remember just where, but it is not too far. Google 'Historic Places near Huston, TX"?

There are a couple of breweries fairly close to the convention center that he may be able to tour. My husband toured Minute Maid park, the Astros ball park. He took his laptop and spent time on it.
