How about a new Quilting-Shed?

I came across this article and thought that us quilters may appreciate a new shed to sew in. It would be a lovely idea for when we want to get out in nature and away from the house, but not use expensive gas to go a long distance (LOL) and still be close to the comforts of home. For about the cost of a new sewing machine, we can have a little place of our own. No kids, no husband, just a place to think, relax and sew.

I used the website listed in the article below and found that there were many styles to choose from. If I had the money, I would build one tomorrow. Let me know what you think.

Here in the Midwest it would impracticable because of weather. I have my own sewing room. Just myself and Husband and pets, I don't let them in there as they get in the way.

Electricity and utilities extra. Looks cute though

I don't have the flat yardage for something like that, although it would be so nice to be away from the four footed hairy shedding things that love to help me sew.
I'm waiting for the day when my daughter moves out and I can convert her bedroom to a sewing room.

Agreed! And I don't have the pets - DH pretty much stays out of the way unless I'm asking him for help! LOL

Beautiful idea though....

I saw that on FB... my first thought was... where is the bathroom?

I bought a used Mennonite "shed" for $8,000- 14x32, 5 windows(3 large, 2 smaller), 3 doors, with electric, although we did have an electrician hook it up and installed a heater. We installed new laminate, and painted the inside for a couple thousand more.

Good point, Nancy. Gotta have a bathroom!

It’s cute but there’s no way that’s big enough for me! I’m happy to stay in my big basement studio

Very cute and I love the idea. But, pretty sure my city's restrictions would prevent this being added permanently to the backyard. I think I'd rather build on to my house......assuming I could afford either!
