We just had the upstairs bathroom redone and replaced the old fiberglass stall shower with a one piece acrylic one. It was done by a contractor and he didn't keep the data that came with it. I want to make sure I keep soap scum from sticking to the walls but don't want to use the wrong products on it. Was wondering if one of those spary shower cleaners that you hand on the shower head work. Last shower was fiberglass and after years of use it became impossible to keep the scum from forming.

I use the spray cleaners and they do help keep the scum down, or break it down in time if you have a great build up.
With that being said, we had some work done on our shower by a professional to fill holes from an old shower door. He said always squegee the water off, or use a small towel to wipe it down quickly after you shower...including the head last. It was a pain to get in that habit, but now we do it and it seems to help the most...but we do have soft water, so it doesnt build up so much. I think the acrylic will stay much cleaner than the fiberglass in general, so hopefully it wont be a big problem.

I use them also and once a week soft scrub with a sponge.

That's the instructions mine said. Put a coat of car wax and mine has stayed like new.

To avoid the soap scum, use liquid soap instead of bar soap. The only cleaner I use is vinegar & water.

A quick wipe with a magic sponge.

I use car wax!! Just not on floor.

Thanks gals, think I'll get some spray car wax. DH uses that shower more than I do and I instructed him right from the beginning to wipe the door and sides down after each shower.

I use the "Scrubbing Bubbles" spray thingie on mine...works GREAT!
The other thing to remember is that if your bathroom doesn't have good ventilation is to leave the shower door slightly ajar so it can air dry, even if you wipe it down...mine got mold/mildew and had to tear out all of the caulk, scrub with bleach, and re-seal it...kind of a PITA!!
