Oh, that is so cute! With everything painted white like that you hardly notice the pipes. Nice top on it, too.

Very cool! I never would have thought of something like this. Fits right in with us antique/vintage enthusiasts.

lovely idea

Tartan 06-18-2013 01:18 PM

Cool idea but I would have the faucet lower so you wouldn't get splash back.

Jingle 06-18-2013 01:48 PM

I recently saw an old sewing machine cabinet like that, unpainted though, that had been cut down to be a coffee table, was really cute!

O wow! I see a lot of vintage sewing machine base for sale. That is such a neat idea. I had one years ago before a house fire that I made out of a nice plant stand in my dining room.

Wow! What a smart idea!! I am using my MamMaw's with big top on it for cutting/pressing. My uncle had it for yrs after she passed & it stayed in his dirt floored garage a long time, so when I got it, the cabinet was so rotten. But did salvage the head & the stand. Took the stand to a pressure care wash to remove rust & painted it black... I can remember her making me a yellow taffeta prom dress on it. Want to display the head but don't know where + it would just collect dust.

Awe, too cute!

nativetexan 06-19-2013 07:23 AM

OH how cute. I have a Singer base with a wooden top. Hmmmm.

jbj137 06-19-2013 09:32 AM

I have a frame, maybe I will think about this.

caspharm 06-19-2013 04:17 PM

That is a great idea. It could even been done with the cabinet left in place to help cover the pipes.

butterflies5518 06-19-2013 06:33 PM

I had a set of them with a glass tops for night stands. Wish I had them now.....

KimmerB 06-20-2013 05:02 AM

Wish I would have seen this before I gave my old machine and table away. :(

mjhaess 06-20-2013 11:04 AM

That is too cute..What an imagination someone had....

just joan 06-22-2013 03:23 AM

I made the one I have into a plant stand. The wood was broken a the machine ddidn't work. I just took every thing off and put a wrought iron grate on it . It's a great stand.

quiltingbuddy 06-24-2013 08:50 PM

Of course I love this idea. I have one made into a plant/speaker stand in our bedroom and also one that I have raised with bed risers and a large table top on it for a cutting table in my quilting studio. They are cute aren't they? I'm now looking for one to use outside on the back porch with a couple of bar stools.
