I wonder if the "Off" Clip On would work. If it repels mosquitoes, you would think it would repel all insects.
OR Take a can of Lysol Spray with you. lol

I don't think either one will work...completely different type of insect,.

They have a spray you can use. It is in the area where you buy the Lice shampoo.

I have allergies to dust mites so my carpet under the bed gets sprayed several times a year with this stuff.

i would walk into the room spray it with bug spray leave the room for awhile that will take care of it.

Suggestions: move the bed away from the walls...put a cup with water under the legs of the bed. The bugs can get up on the cup but will drown .
Take duct tape and put it around each bed leg wit the sticky side out.
Diatanateous Earth(like for pool filters) spread near the baseboards will kill them, (use that for slugs in the yard) It shreds their insides...death.
Bring a plastic mattress cover to encase the mattress, bring own linen.
Leave nothing on the foor.
When you get home..wash all clothes right away.
Put your luggage in a sealed trash bag and leave it in the sun for a few days.
Never letkids bring their stuffed friends to hotels. never know what attaches to them.
Ask at hotel if there has been a problem there with bedbugs.
If it is a Chain call the headquarters ask about the bug situation in the ne yu will be in, Ask about the cleanliness ratings. (AAA has a lot of nfo like that.
I did a lot of rsearch and talked to exterminators whenDD and friends had a great problem in their dorm room. After many tries to clear it and many months being seperated from their friends, an th room sealed for weeks on end, they moved back together to the same problem. The bugs were in side the wall. The college promised to rid the nest and to seal that room for a year. So no other girl would go through that/

Never never pick up old couches, mattresses from any curbside
Slash all mattresses and cushions. Tell that toal college bound kids and warn them.

I'm sorry, but if I had to go through all of this, I would just stay home. :)

Google "bed bug registry" This will tell you what hotels and apartments have been reported having these critters.

I shared a room at a writing conference with a friend whose background was in entomology. Before we took any luggage out of the car she examined all four corners and sides of each mattress for bedbugs and looked for spots of blood on the mattresses. We then brought our luggage inside. We still did not use any dresser drawers.

Do take the sheets off as far to sufficeintly look at the creases , piping and other folds in the mattress material. Look for small brown specks.
Leave your luggage/tote bags etc. in the bathtub, as this tends to be the furthest point from the food source. When changing clothing immediately put the soiled items in a sealed plastic bag , leave no clothing laying around. Pack your items it the super sized z- loc bags they sell them in the grocery store.
I travel alot for work, and always .. always check the mattress no matter how "good" the hotel claims to be. The idea of bringing that vermin home with me just too scary.
