Oh yea, that meat factory.

nativetexan 03-19-2013 01:08 PM

Oh I couldn't help but laugh. What?????????????????

Nammie to 7 03-19-2013 03:24 PM

That's about as intelligent as some are!!

BellaBoo 03-19-2013 05:15 PM

A friend of my DD, college graduate, told me that animals that are hunted for meat are real animals that need to live free. Cows and chickens aren't hunted so they are okay to butcher for meat. This loon in now teaching 3rd grade. Parents don't have a clue to what thoughts many young teachers are passing on to kids.

irishrose 03-19-2013 05:31 PM

That's funny. Though if grocery store meat has many more additives in it, it will have to be classified as a 'made' product.

My dogs think their raw meat comes from the white box in the kitchen.

petthefabric 03-19-2013 05:34 PM

I love seeing the animals run wild. There are deer, quail, wild turkey, fox, domestic dogs, domestic cats, etc. here. And cayotte, mountain lion, bear, bob cats and man. It's part of the natural world. It's sad, but yes, I'm a part of the preditors.

LOL, fire that proof reader!

idoqlts 03-20-2013 04:57 AM

Ask you kids where French fries come from. Most don't even know they're potatoes!

BellaBoo 03-20-2013 06:00 AM

Or pickles are cucumbers , raisins are grapes, or chocolate comes from a bean.

scarlet14 03-20-2013 06:10 AM

that's almost as bad as the woman that called the talk radio station and wanted them to move the deer crossing sign to prevent the deer from getting hit by cars so many times at that spot

Iraxy 03-20-2013 06:18 AM

I am thinking that this was made as a tongue in cheek comment.

jeaninmaine 03-20-2013 06:32 AM

I work with a man who won't eat fresh eggs from chickens, he wants the store bought kind. I didn't have the heart to say anything, he has lived for over 70 years and thinks there's some kind of difference other than the amount of room the chickens get. Ours are all over the place and fed a much better variety, chickens are wonderful fun.

alwayslearning 03-20-2013 06:41 AM

The very sad thing is that the wild animals live a better life than those raised to feed us.

tessagin 03-20-2013 06:53 AM

What gets me is some total vegans that will have nothing to do with beef. BUTTTTT they don't realize that what went into that beef and came out the other end was used to fertilize the vegetables. LOL! I also heard a gal in the supermarket say she doesn't do dairy because of the red meat. Excuse me! You don't get milk products out of a dead cow. Sometimes one also needs meat protein. Everything should be in moderation anyway.

mighty 03-20-2013 06:55 AM

Really??? So funny!!!

When I had chickens and sold the eggs, I was describing how they ran free and ate bugs. One woman got sick thinking about it. They were the most wonderful eggs money could buy. The golden orange yolks stood up high and the whites didn't spread out. yummmmm

jeaninmaine 03-20-2013 08:54 AM

My husband calls it Chicken TV, because we spend so much time just watching them in the summer.

lynnie 03-20-2013 08:59 AM

What alot of people dont know is that animals are raised on farms for fur.
The meat is your meatby oroducts in cat and dog food. The oils are used in candle making and as shoepolish. Ecery part of the animal is used. The bones are out into oet dood as bone meal and in gardening supplies also. Beaver is one of the few animals used that is trapped. If they weret trapped, the damsthey build would stop up water flow to rivers and streams. There is a reason for every season.

Unfortunately, I don't think so. My husband used to work with a woman who thought this - he hunts, and she said almost the same thing to him. Why do you have to hunt, when you could buy the meat in the grocery store and no animals get harmed? This is the same woman who was satisfied that she would never get the swine flu because she doesn't eat pork.

Not only do the reproduce, but they vote

quiltmau 03-20-2013 09:21 AM

as a child I was raise by my grandparents. Granddad hunted and we ate what he shot-or didn't eat!. Simple-
When we had more money and my mother would go to the store I would complain because I didn't want the store bought stuff-I wanted the "real" thing from the farms and road stands. LOL I am old-so this was a long time ago.
Funny how life and time changes you. I still like "real" bacon and farm eggs-corn from stands. I was so spoiled when I lived in Australia with the organic farms-Nothing in the US taste like the King Island beef, cheeses, and Tazzie wines! And fresh veggies were fabulous!!

brendaj8689 03-20-2013 09:24 AM

No matter how many times I see this, I still shake my head....
No wonder the US is in such bad shape....
Maybe in stead of our schools teaching socialist crap, they should try to teach about the food chain.

There are many countries that raise animals we consider pets as food sources. So, how did this person think the meat got to the grocery store? Did they pick it off the trees???? lol lol lol

quiltjoey 03-20-2013 07:30 PM

That is a, "You can't fix stupid", if I ever heard one...

jbj137 03-21-2013 06:05 AM

That is almost as funny as
the girl who told me pickles were not cucumbers.

JoanneS 03-21-2013 11:50 AM

Watch out - these people are among us!

AlienQuilter 03-21-2013 12:42 PM

I have a cousin that when she was a kid would not eat eggs when she found out that they came out of a chickens butt!

My Dad was raised on a farm and he tried to get me to believe that chocolate milk came from chocolate (brown) cows.

Another cousin found out that he could not raise an animal for slaughter because his wife made pets out of them.

JuBee 03-21-2013 12:56 PM

This can't be for real, can it?

Pat M. 03-21-2013 03:21 PM

Maybe the meat is cloned?

Carol34446 03-21-2013 06:05 PM

God must love stupid people. he made so many of them. Saying on a tee shirt years ago and so true today.

karate lady 03-22-2013 01:34 AM

You can't fix stupid....................

nancia 03-22-2013 11:08 AM

you can 'fix' stupid, but they have to sign the medical forms. instead of being neutered they thought they were getting 'tutored! old joke, still true today. the more things change the more they stay the same!:D
all i hope for is humane treatment to animals. culling the deer, for instance, allows the herd to be sustainable and not starve to death. their bodies respond to droughts and poor or scant food sources by shutting down the reproductive systems. that is sooo not true of humans. the the rich get richer, and the poor get children. farm animals are a resource and rules are in place to protect them from being 'in-humanely' treated, rules which are not always upheld. a cow who is bred for milk production, usually artificially, goes from one birth to the next. it is all the life they know, and probably all they will ever know. their intelligence is low and they have no motivation to riot and get out of there. they aren't people. i will say i have met some cows who were a lot nicer than some people i know. cattle, pigs, fowl, fish are living factories. perhaps the day will come when we can produce their products by machine and the animals will live in zoos so our grandkids can see what they looked like. philly zoo has some scottish cows, and so it begins!
