We are having a house built for us and it will be the first time I have personally had wood floors. I remember my mother having them in one of the houses and the sofas would slide every time you sat on them...

Does anyone have any recommendations to keep your couch from taking a tour of your living room?

Not sure if this would work but tat no slide stuff you can put in cabinets might work and you could cut it to size.

They make cup shaped holders for that, brown or clear, and a couple sizes.

I'll check to see what our Lowes has. I remember seeing a lot of things that would make your furniture slide but didn't notice things that would keep them from sliding. :)
I'm probably going to go in to town today. I'll check it out :)

My brother-in-law glued cut pieces of carpet to the furniture when they got hard wood floors. There are a lot of things on the market for sliding furniture. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and tell them what you want and I am sure they can recommend some things that might help.

Yep, anything rubbery/grippy will work just fine. When I lived in a place with wood floors I used shelf liner, but they always wore through eventually and had to be replaced.

I have anchored the area rug with 2 legs of the sofa, so no sliding on either of them...

We did that too. Also put felt stick on pads on all chairs tables etc. Even sme large peices as curio cabinets that normally stay put got feltpeices. We did all this when we removed them from the rooms to be finished. It was a breeze pushing them in place. good luck loving wood!

I use some of that rubbery shelf liner & cut circles to fit under the feet of the furniture.
