I moved, only 2.45 hours from my old home. Had it packed, no problemo! Had help arriving! No problemo! help didnt show up. My husband and his friend packed my whole house in the two trucks and one trailer. I frantically cleaned fridges, counter, floors you name it.. we drove, no cat carrier, my son borrowed it. Didnt return it. I didnt notice til we were loading up. AHH. Cat cried, the whole way on my lap. No big deal. Got into the new house totally unloaded at 5. Put what I could away last night, dead by 9. This morning woke at 4 am. 4:15 unpacking. 34 box's later, my house is unpacked. I meant to hang pictures too but my feet have failed me, my energy left yesterday and well, yipppeeee! in the new place. I love it, love the home, love the area love it all. Just so darned.. POOPED! Upside? of many upsides I have a sewing room of my very own. One day a table to sew on and I will be incredibly happy. (how could I be happier? not sure).

YEAH!

So glad to hear you are safely in your new place. :)

Sheila Elaine 01-30-2010 07:22 PM

Glad to hear from you again & know you're all settled in. You'll get a table soon & be ready to make some beautiful creations. Go rest awhile, you deserve it, after all that work.

redquilter 01-30-2010 07:57 PM

You've done more than enough for now. Give yourself a much deserved break and rest for a few days. What isn't done, WILL get done eventually. Your health is more important. BTW- congratulations in your new home - best of luck and much happiness.

littlehud 01-30-2010 08:02 PM

I'm tired just reading about it. Glad you are settled.

tlrnhi 01-30-2010 08:26 PM

WOOHOO!!!
Glad you will now have your own sewing room!
Isn't it nice?

Lisanne 01-30-2010 08:36 PM

Yeah, moving can be exhausting. But hey, you're already all unpacked! Didn't anyone tell you there's no rule saying you have to do it all in one day?

Sounds like you slept well and were eager to get up again. You'll sleep well again tonight, too.

As for hanging those pictures, relax a bit and take your time. I'm sure you want it all to be over with, but it's okay to pace yourself.

Anyway, congratulations on the new place!

Charlee 01-30-2010 08:40 PM

You sound so excited! I'm happy for you!

Now...remember that all of that work will wait for you...take a break and relax. Enjoy yourself for at least a day...then you can get back to settling in! :)

Esqmommy 01-30-2010 09:47 PM

Wow, that was fast. Seems like you just got hired yesterday!

Jingle 01-30-2010 10:05 PM

You'll have everything in place in no time. Congrats on your very own sewing room.

MamaBear61 01-31-2010 04:50 AM

You did good, I have been in this house going on five years and there are still 5 or 6 boxes that have never had the packing tape taken off them. Why did I move that stuff???????

marsye 01-31-2010 04:54 AM

Sewing room comes first!!!!

nursie76 01-31-2010 04:55 AM

Katie 01-31-2010 06:22 AM

You are GOOD. My move is coming up real soon, just let me know what weekend you're available. LOL

Teacup 01-31-2010 06:38 AM

I know it feels wonderful to have that huge hurdle behind you. Congratulations! Enjoy your new lovely location. And I'm sure something will turn up to work for a sewing table. Sometimes you just have to think about things creatively. You might come across a solid door that is being dicarded and you just need to add legs...or lay the door across filing cabinets for a base. Or maybe a stretch of laminated countertop. Lots of options if you are open to them.

Elisabrat, how did your cat do traveling and does s/he like the new house?

wvdek 01-31-2010 02:53 PM

Holy Moley, I'm pooped just reading about your move.
Relax now and enjoy your space.
How's the cat? In hiding? New space and all they tend to do that.

Elisabrat 01-31-2010 03:14 PM

LOL Boris is almost 19. He is the KING no matter where he goes. He figured out the litter box in two minutes. He is as grumpy as he has been since he got old. He is fine. He owns the bed. He owns the bathroom sinks (water.. hello WATER NOW>>) I am getting him two new friends soon as they are born, kitten season is soon to be here I will pull two unwanted tiny ones from the shelter and give them a shot they wont get there. Under 8 weeks most of them dont get out. So two new babies who might need a bottle for a couple weeks and well I will be happy. Boris will roll his old man eyes and do the OMG what did you get me NOW? He is used to rescue kittens at least half a dozen at a time so maybe the lack of company makes it harder. but he loves letting them curl up with him. Cross your fingers. I will post when it happens. With luck not for another month but kitten season starts as early as the weather allows (frown).

butterflywing 01-31-2010 04:55 PM

you're so lucky that boris shares his space. i always had 2 at a time and they always hated each other.

MadQuilter 01-31-2010 08:36 PM

I'm tired just reading your story. Can't believe you got it done so quickly. Pat yourself on the back if you can. Glad the King adapted. Don't worry - you'll be back in sewing mode soon.

butterflywing 01-31-2010 09:31 PM

and so will boris.
